  4. Sorry about that. The original pictures have disappeared! The Newtones are 45/65/85/105/130 and the brite Flats are 49/62/84/108/129. Note that there’s an extra low B for the Brite Flats.
  5. Owned from new for around 12yrs, I bought this from Thomann and had it set up for Rockabilly. It definitely feels a step up from the entry level basses and I have used it live a lot. Most of its life has been more of feature in my living room though. The last couple of years I have been coming to terms with the fact that I need to sell it. Space is at a premium, it rarely gets used and I am of an age where the EUB seems the easier option. The specs are here Thomann link if anyone is interested. I added a pickup which has been useful. I can’t recall the make but it was quite a decent one, Shadow, I seem to remember. There is a tatty (by my high standards) gig bag and the strings are currently Gut-A-Like vintage ones Gut A Like strings You’ll see I added a few stickers. These should be fairly easy to remove. I’m happy to do it, or I can leave it. Equally I am happy to add more pictures. It’s currently lent against the wall in my place in Hungerford, where I am Sunday to Thursday evenings. Postage looks too hard to do so it would be a collection. I have gotten it in a Peugeot 107 before - not comfortably, so perhaps don’t bring the family if collecting!

  10. not bass related but got a real tie it yourself bowtie this is so I can untie it, after dinner, and look a bit more like Daniel Craig's Bond Mum sent me 100 quid which I've put towards my Dingwall Just like @NancyJohnson we tend to buy what we want, when we want it but this year Christmas was about having friends round for lunch, wine and games
  11. well I'm glad to report that I'm not too far out with what my mate has told me but after my playing 2 days ago, my plucking fingers are sore, so I need more playing hours to build up calluses on my fingers shorter nails works for me too
  12. Good evening, friends. One of the saddles on my Badass Bass II has peeled and I'm looking to replace it. All Parts sells saddle kits on their website, but since All Parts acquired Leo Quan, I've become somewhat concerned about the quality standards. Do you know if the quality standards remain the same as before? Is it worth replacing just the saddles or the entire bridge? The bridge is practically new.
  13. All of these players are using 6 string piccolo bases. I'm setting up my phone camera to record the first 34" scale 3.5 kg four string bass swing. I should have no trouble at all cracking the singers eye socket.
  14. Ours was quite good. A slight goof as we get this song tight. But were having a lot of fun....
  15. I keep one these permanently in the back of the car as an emergency spare. Very nice piece of kit, totally dependable.

  17. I can’t find any videos on it but one cool effect was using the Slicer effect but using an assign with the Internal Pedal set to a sine wave to control the “Pattern” parameter which results in a random sounding glitchy stutter. Great for building lofi patches. There’s some great examples of the kind of weird effects you can create here:
  18. My bad ! It is of course a maple neck ! Apologies, it’s corrected.
  19. Here’s a good example for configuring a far more effective side chained noise gate via assigns. It allows far tighter control of threshold based on input levels: The QC has something very similar with sidechained compressors and gates however there’s something nice about having this level of control. if you’re creative, you can get some very cool effects out of it by utilising some of these assigns.
  20. I'll be 72 next month. Dave, I'm just not sure I could handle the amount of night gigs or trying to do 2 and 3 gig weekends. I wish I could. However, I still want to see more consistent packed rooms and lots of dancing. You can't get that with blues rock. It's a bit of a downer playing " Red House" and watch the audience fall asleep. I wish we would dump that song. Daryl
  21. Suggest you try Turners, which is about 200 miles closer than East Sussex and if they cannot help you I’ll put you in touch with John. Edit: https://share.google/XD1SRdoo5dTYW1dTo recently he saw my acoustic bass from about 20 feet away and said it needed more bow. He was right #blackmagic very helpful and knowledgeable chap
  22. You won't play much mandolin with a twisted arm.... Have PM'd you.
  23. This is my last gig of 2025. I’m not playing (by choice) NYE this year, which is probably the first time in nearly 40 years. In what was supposed to be a period of winding down gigging a bit, still managed to play 95 gigs this year and 2026 is already looking quite promising. 😀 Happy New Year to all BC’s gigging fraternity!
