  2. Will this de-clutter ever finish? Various instrument sales over the last year have finally removed all of my surplus gigbags for electric bass; now it's time for the DB bags. I'm expecting delivery quite soon of my jolly nice (and jolly expensive) Protec bag for a 3/4 DB which means that my current bag now becomes 'first reserve'. Inevitably, this means that my current 'first reserve' is now redundant, whilst my 'second reserve' should have gone years ago. Life's too short to spend it trying to sell DB gigbags that were never very valuable to start with, so I could just chuck them into a stranger's skip and drive away with a guilty conscience. Alternatively, I could offer them here as freebies to anyone who wants to collect them (NO, I WILL NOT BLOODY POST THEM) and - if they're still here in a week - I could still chuck them into a stranger's skip and drive away with a slightly less-guilty conscience.
  3. Looks like a hex programmer on the bottom. Mmm... that takes me back... Might well be needed for this guitar

  7. Your pic would do great in this thread. What a lovely pair!
  8. My son and I have matching basses in that they are both butterscotch and both maple necks and also from the same era. His is the Jazz and mine is the Precision. Anyone else have family related basses or even twins!
  9. I lob mine in the bin
  10. DT was the URB player of all time. For me at least. His was work with Pentangle and later Martyn was pure magic. What a shame, a one off.
  11. Only four strings and doesn't look great for playing seated. Headless and natural wood finish though, so that ticks two of my boxes.
  12. What about the centre pickup? Are the controls for that on the upper bout?
  13. Yeah, that's definitely a problem on a lot of amps. GK seem to have pretty honest volume controls too.
  14. Recently acquired this bass. It's wonderful and essentially brand new, hardly played at all and mint condition. I'm simply not feeling 6 strings any more.... Specs: Body: Ash & walnut top Neck: wenge/bubinga reinforced with titanium rods Fingerboard: 24-fret Scale: 34″ Pickups: Nordstrand Electronics: Ibanez custom 3‑band EQ with mid‑frequency switch and bypass toggle Bridge: Mono‑rail V (16.5 mm spacing) Hardware: Gotoh tuners, GraphTech Black TUSQ nut, gold hardware Comes with the Ibby case which is also as new. Fresh Dadarrio XLs on it Cash is always king but I would absolutely consider trade on a decent P bass Pics nicked from eddking who I acquired the bass from, hope you don't mind matey
  15. Open to sensible offers. I'd much prefer a straight sale but I can always be tempted but the right trade!
  16. That’s what I had on my Trans Orange one. It looks like it went wrong in the wash.
  17. Having moved to short scale basses because of my osteoarthritis I have a great deal of love for my G&L Fallout basses a CAR Tribute and yellow US with go faster black stripes. Happy Days 😃

  20. @Franticsmurf This should be a documentary or mockumentay or something. I shouldn't say it's great as it was probably traumatic, but it is. A collection of the foibles of human existence. Rob

  22. Try seeing if Marc will reply via Instagram. That's the only place that the bass product page still exists. It's interesting this debacle actually. What does one do when a small, boutique builder just suddenly stops? If the parts are bespoke say drivers or crossover parts what then?
