  1. Past hour
  2. You got any of these left? I'm interested in one...
  3. Thanks for putting me in the picture folks 👍
  4. Parklife - Blur
  5. I believe a couple of guys on Talkbass road test the prototypes and have input to the manuals. While they might not make the final cut, @agedhorse is open to suggestions and ideas, and is consequentially a good guy to have designing our bass amps.
  6. Welcome Goety.
  7. I hate to say this, Tiny, but that's exactly the rapidly-disintegrating gigbag I already own.
  8. That's actually quite a good point, although it may be skewed somewhat by genre and geography. I would associate the early '80s a bit more with British pop and rock bands - the second British invasion as MTV might have termed it. In the later '80s British commercial music went into something of decline, and American hard rock/Hip Hop became a lot more popular.
  9. You are correct, my mistake. As I do sell on eBay, I should have realised that. Corrected Rob
  10. You're right, I'm sorry. Maybe for my penance I should buy a new P bass?
  11. I have a friend who went to see it, who loved the original and this is what he had to say about it, “Just seen Spinal Tap 2. I laughed about 10 times but all in the last 10 mins. Elton John v good. I had to see it but set the bar low and you will be ok!!” pretty much echoes what Mark Kermode said, except for EJ.
  12. I think you'll find it's paid by the buyer.
  13. ...to burst to pieces?
  14. I've had one of these for about 8 years and it's great - well made, loads of handles plus wheels https://www.gear4music.ie/Woodwind-Brass-Strings/Westbury-Deluxe-Padded-3-4-Double-Bass-Gig-Bag-with-Wheels/1MBI
  15. If you play baroque music, should you use A = 415 Hz, not tempered scales, original instruments, but not forget those extramarital affairs, different conflicts with contemporaries, controversial political views etc.? Can you play music, or are we just discussing about a performance that includes numerous details that seem to be more important than the music itself? I hate Springsteen singing, although his songs are fine. To me Dylan sounds dreadful, and many of his songs are total #rap. I like some of Wolfgang's music, although he was next to impossible as a person (I am more than happy that social media wasn't invented earlier). Do I have to tell a story (an excuse) before I play any music from Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, or Charlie Mingus? Or should I just let the listeners to choose between enjoying their music, or thinking about their actions?
  16. A little Sept bump!
  17. That’s charcoal frost is giving me the Sean Hurley sig vibes.
  18. "The 80s" is a very broad church ranging from "New Romantic" and synth-pop via jangly guitar bands all the way through to acid house. Of course most people tend to forget about anything post 1985 unless the band had already had hits before then. The problem I have with bands like the one in the clip above is that for me music in the 80s was as much about the image of the artists as it was about the songs. If the music is going to be performed by a bunch of beardy old blokes in crap shirts then it doesn't matter how well they have nailed the sound, the audience would be better off someone playing the records. I hope the OP is taking note...
  19. Great manual as well. Mesa generally do very good manuals which deliver technical information in a really player-friendly manner. I normally expect to see selectable mid frequencies on modern amps, so it is nearly refreshing to see an amp with simple pre-set bass, middle and treble controls like an old school valve amp. Yepp, definitely on my list.
  20. I'm interested in adding a reverb module between the mixer and the amp of our back up PA system amp. Can anyone point me at a kit that gives a clean sound, and has a front end gain stage that can be modified/adjusted to takes line level signal? An off the shelf solution might be a Behringer DR600 pedal, so £35-ish would be good, unless the kit was significantly better sounding. David
  21. There is a video and I thought it was attached. Looks like the video has been blocked for some reason. I will check/reattach when I get home tonight. There are plenty of versions of it on YouTube.
  22. Hello!
  23. Well, anyone with a pedal-board should go and see it and/or cheese loving guitarists. Not as good as the first one, but our singer was crying with laughter through most of it. Great band outing.....
  24. Today
  25. The best fun I've had in a band was in one that did '80s covers. I'm just a wee bit envious. Good luck with the project.
