Anyone else doing the Black Sabbath live stream?
Harps replied to Newfoundfreedom's topic in General Discussion
I know the gig is over, but the live stream is way behind so waiting on the last Sabbath performance. I’ve watch since the start and loved pretty much every minute Bloody fantastic -

No you would still mess up the change as you had got into a sort of daze of playing the same thing over and over.

Well - it's all said and done. The greatest metal event in history and Sabbath have laid themselves to rest. We will never see their like again. 🤘🏻

I tried the synth before comp and back again and didn't notice any discernible difference across the presets. Could be my hearing of course 🤷♂️.

As I don't use an Octaver in any of my patches I have the HPF at the start of my patch chain. I only use 8 patches for the covers bands I'm in. 6 are for specific song types made up of compressor, drive and amp SIM. The 2 other patches are just "Always on" HPF one at 30hz and one at 40hz. To get as close as possible to emulate a Thumpinator I use 2 HPFs in series in each of the patch chains as I understand a single B1FOUR HPF has a 12db per octave slope , so by using 2 HPF in series the result is a 24db per octave slope. Seems to work for my needs by tightening up the low end. I know some of the amps I use (Fender Rumble 800 combo, Fender Rumble 800 HD + BF Super Compact, Mesa D800 Subway+ BF Compact, Peavey Mini max 500 + BC110) have some form of HPF built into their circuit designs but using an always on HPF before the amp simply provides a "belt & braces" approach to tighten up the low end. Having a 40hz & 30hz HPF patch makes it simple to toggle between the two to compensate for room and stage issues. It's probably worthwhile taking a look at the Zoom B1FOUR patches thread that @Al Krow started to see some of the ways players configure their B1FOURs.

I think "Tales" is the best solo Miller LP (not that I have them all) "Eric" , "True Geminis" "Rush Over"

Hi. I've made a demo with these passive EMG-SSD pickups. I ran it through a Line6 Pod GX. It went into the Ampeg. About 30% gain, 50% the rest except low mids on 75%. Into a thumpy compressor pedal then into a limiting compressor. Chose some different playing styles and pickup settings. Played a few bass lines to tunes that are a bit above my pay grade from ear, from memory, which produces better bass lines by allowing gopping differences in notation and timing. Original Tempos are retained. I rate the pickups. Very clear and articulate. The bridge pickup has so much mid, buy lowering the neck pickup slowly against it, the sounds sweeps through mid frequencies. Bridge Pickup only, doesn't have much fundamental strength, but the mids are so strong. Yeah. Lively thing and light. It might be good enough for the world tour I'm expecting to be invited on, as I'm imminently discovered.

Dunno I’ll leave this here, there seems to be parallel paths which the hx stomp should be able to do

Good point IF the venue actually HAS a PA system and a competent sound man to run it. Over here such luxurties are few and far between!

Is that true, I can accept that something might hold emotional value for someone but that doesn't stop it being bad? I mean I understand that people like oasis, I don't know why, but they clearly do, and that is ok. I am a lot more tolerant of other peoples music over 35 than I was before 35.

Hm I had a bass with a flat top and binding and it hurt my forearm when sitting. It doesn’t look like the ones with binding have an angled bit… I know the ones without binding do. How did you find it? I’m only looking out of idle curiosity tbh.

Depends. Mine doesn't 😭... The last one sold here did. May be selling mine btw.
