  1. Past hour
  2. Not sure i could ever sell my 89 Thumb that i bought new in early 1990. Such a wonderful bass to play and mine never leaves the house these days but its a keeper. As already mentioned the necks on these basses are sublime and those EMG's are simply one of the best pick ups i've ever had on a bass. GLWTS Dave
  3. Traded my Wayne Jones Powered cab for PJB combo at opposite ends of country, great communications and superbly packed transaction😊
  4. I think that's a bit out of date now... 1. No longer true for all services. Of the main streaming services Spotify is now the only one that doesn't offer an option for a format without lossy compression. However how important is that? I do much of my streaming listening in the car where the audio has to compete with all the noises of the road and driving. When I originally ripped all my CDs in the early 2000s for use with my iPod and HiFi, I spent several evenings deciding on the best format to use and decided that under most listening conditions I couldn't tell the difference between the original CD and a 320BR MP3. I suspect that most streaming listening is done in far worse acoustic environments. 2. What does this actually mean? When you buy a CD the only thing you actually own is the piece of plastic that the music is encoded onto. The music itself is just licensed. If it's a CDR rather than a glass-mastered replicated CD, you may find that your piece of plastic is no longer playable after less than 10 years. Then it's just a piece of plastic with hopefully a nice design on one side. 3. It could be argued that CD artwork is but a pale imitation of what you would get if you bought the same thing on vinyl. It also depends on how good the sleeve design is anyway. I have plenty of CDs and vinyl where the packaging adds little or no artistic benefit to the listener. I've also got some with fancy packaging that is actually an impediment to listening to the music. PiL's Metal Box (vinyl) and Scissor Sisters Ta-Dah (CD in a box) spring to mind. 4. Personally I like the algorithms. I like the way that when an album I've been streaming on Apple Music comes to an end the algorithm will play me more songs in a similar style. I've discovered several new bands this way.
  5. Here's the blurb from Mission: The SP1-L6H can be connected to inputs on Line 6 devices that support an expression pedal and toe switch. The linear potentiometer is matched exactly to the specifications of the Line 6 Helix for a precise and natural response. The pedal has a toe switch to turn effects on and off without requiring a separate footswitch. I got this to use with my HX Stomp but it's sat in its box. Pretty much as new and still got the protective film on the bottom and the bag of spares. Will include a TRS cable for it as well. Asking £105 to include UK postage.
  6. Ah, in which case - ⏰ = £ = £ = @upside downer.
  7. I rather like your red IEC cable
  8. I still miss my Ibbenbacker that got stolen from me about 40 odd years ago.
  9. Coppering up for stuff so for sale is this "attic find" Been up there for years, i think i bought it with a mind to restore and practice setting up and soldering electronics etc, i never did so i still dont have a clue. Its a Korean made Kay "Gremlin" bass from the 80's in arctic white, 28" scale shortscale. Its a bit of a project, but its mostly ok. 1- The fingerboard was painted and quite worn, id started to remove (not finished) with wire wool, and ive oiled it, itll need proper sanding, ive cleaned the frets up, but may need a good dress/polish. 2- Hardware- bridge is nothing special, maybe brass, but adjusts fine. The tuners are quite loose and pitted but work fine and stay in tune. It would benefit from some newer replacements, which can be bought cheaply. 3- pickup/electrics - a sticker on the back shows its fitted with a super distortion pickup 🤣 because thats what we all want. In actuality its a beefy sounding P bass sound. Ive cleaned the jack/pots and passive electrics, and they work fine. Truss rod- i couldnt move it, but with a newish set of shortscale strings on, it has a medium action and is easy to play. Theres a bit of paint on the body, but its all clean. Its very small and light, and perfect for anyone wanting a little fixer upper, or for a child to try which doesnt break the bank, before they have a gig three weeks later and ask for an Alembic. Make no mistake, its not perfect and sold as seen, it works and theres no buzz across the range of the instrument. I will post this to you UK only very well wrapped for £50 which by the time ive paid for postage will get me a pint of craft ale. Paypal F&F please, or you cover the fees 20250329_144215_1.mp4

  10. Doesn't take much to make you crazy, does it? You might want to get that checked out.
  11. Nik bought my Zoom B3 and you couldn't ask for a nicer chap to deal with. Prompt payment etc and a pleasure to deal with. Top fella, Paul
  12. It was all miming to 1966. After that it gets complicated as miming to a pre-recorded backing track was allowed.
  13. As above. This is a 2019 model. Great condition. A few very small blemishes which I’ve tried to picture but are really hard to catch on camera and can’t really be seen unless intentionally looking. (2 on top horn, one near bridge and one or two very little ones near the control plate) Also a little bit of bucklerash as this has been gigged for a year or so but nothing major. No noticeable marks to my eyes on the headstock. Really nice bass. Hipshot tuners which I’m not sure whether or not are standard but they’re on there since I bought it… Recently (3 weeks ago) professionally set up with EB Medium Slinkies. with a slight fret dress, so it’s a really nice low action with no high spots or choking. Honestly, plays like butter, whatever that plays like! I’ve also had the pickup cavity and pick guard copper shielded at the same time so it no longer has that pesky Mustang Hum. Only selling because try as I might, I just can’t seem to make it work for me. The split coil pickup which the Mustang is famous for sounds awesome but I can’t make it fit in my main gig and find myself craving more ‘honk’ that comes from having a bridge pickup. Comes with a full size bass hard case which I’ve adapted to fit the short scale with some wood & foam. Works a treat. Also comes with Schaller S Locks. And, I think I’ve got an old set of Fender flatwounds cut to fit it which I’ll chuck in. The original strap pins are also in the case and I can knock £20 off if you don’t want the Schallers. I can also include the Fender strap for an additional £10. Looking for £650 collected from TF5 where I have very nice coffee and a biscuit or 2 available, and a nice amp you can try through. Or, i think i have a box and can pack up if you wanted to organise a courier. And… I can potentially meet within about 30-40 mins of TF5 . Will consider trades/part trades for short scales especially a Fender Japan Junior Jazz Bass or Gibson Jr Les Paul Tribute, and potentially 5 strings. But, sale is preferred so happy to see what you’ve got. Thanks in advance. Alex

  14. In my view, your images prove the variation is down to jig settings or other variations. It now seems possible that the corners were 'clipped' one at a time. The variation could simply be down to how accurately the operator fitted the dies (and presumably some sort of guides) when switching to do bottom corners. Such small variations would be much harder to spot on the top corners because of the shape, you would have to measure them.
  15. I'm going crazy from digital processos being called processors!
  16. Thanks. Might give them a go.
  17. And the HAZ
  18. sharing my processors on a pedalstand for both thick and thin strings. The tap tempo on top of the expression pedal is to toggle between EXP1 and EXP2
  19. Today
  20. Thanks fabbabass! Body is a standard P bass size and a fair bit smaller than the original Jazz bass body that it was attached to tbh- maybe the pics don't show that. I agree - the neck is beautiful and that's why I wanted to build my own bass around it... It's a bass for someone out there....
  21. From memory, the former. I think you press the button to power on, and hold for pairing etc.
  22. Just seen this on FB
  23. P.S - as you can see ive fitted a bridge cover. The thumbrocker thumb rest will be removed before sale and will leave no trace as this is a drop in mod. Very sunny here so anything other than the aforementioned dent will sun sun glare. More pics to follow once ive cleared space
