Thanks for your kind comments Michael. The Streamer and the Fretless are both coming along fine. I just need to put the hours in with them. I'm glad to hear that you're still working at the bass methods and whatever may develop from that. Keep me posted!

After obtaining my first Warwick (Corvette Fretless - see above) I really wanted to score another. I did a trade with a fellow chatter for this rather nice Streamer LX4.

Eheheh...they're Neodimium Humb with Serial/Parallel/Single switch, they're HUGE but incredibeley mid-focused. The Treeble are very musical and natural...and they're passive with an output that's more powerfull than an active set! I've made some short sample, you can they here, above "Matteo Salvestrini", click on the SERIE SB button there are my samples! Look on the left!

... I'm thinking about the possible structural problems in these early basses.
What possible structural problems? Is that just an assumption re all 6 string basses or specific to Warwick, as I've never heard of such issues with Warwick basses.

What a Piece of wood!! I'm thinking about the possible structural problems in these early basses. 6 Strings and more-stringed basses are quite difficult to build!
Not really. Just shove a couple of bits of carbon fibre in the neck, or 2 truss rods, and a couple of extra bolts in the neck pocket (although that is just to make you feel better as much as anything) and hey presto. A structurally sound 6 stringed bass. It's not as if you're trying to hold up the eiffel tower or anything...

or even just through neck multilaminates of different african hardwoods, aged and seasoned properly and made by a highly skilled manufacturer, you would have thought would have been alright?

My old Streamer S1 5 string. Really didnt get on with it because of the broad neck. I have thumb GAS ATM though.
