MrSpace Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Shubb C3 capo. Currently in use working on "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick" (I found it makes the fingering far easier) and soon to be enjoying various Smiths songs (don't want to tune my strings higher like Andy Rourke did). Quote
knirirr Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Musically related: A guitar book, as I need more practice at this secondary instrument. A clip on light for my music stand, so I will be prepared for a difficult pit orchestra job in May. An album by this chap, which I haven't had chance to listen to yet due to travelling to visit relatives. I suspect there may be a "vintage" guitar strap along these lines still to come. In relation to that last picture I infer from his expression that Mr. Harris could be asking whether one is looking at his bird and would perhaps be interested in further discussion in the car park (which, from what I have read, would be in character). Twigman Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago My youngest son who recently turned 18 bought everyone alcohol because he could. I rarely drink but I understand it was a novelty for him to be able to do that legally. i got a 4 pack of bottled 7.5% Nigerian Guinness - I’ve not tried it but I expect it to be vile. I’m saving it for the next time he comes for the weekend so that he can suffer the poisoning. 2 Quote
NancyJohnson Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I guess it's just indicative of age/monetary availability, but we just seem to buy stuff when we want it rather than holding out for the 25th December. I also have my birthday on December 1st, so that screws things up, too. I never really want anything, but suppose there is this expectation that someone will pick up on something I've said, but alas, nope. Ever. I've been expecting a sausage making machine for over a decade. I drop hints, but tumbleweed. Inevitably, nothing (obvs) discernably bass-centric arrived (so nothing unusual on that front); we did treat ourselves to a pair of Sonos ERA100 speakers - my old ones went to @RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE a couple of weeks back - I just wanted an upgrade to allow Bluetooth and a wired-in method of playing the odd CD. Much to my chagrin I found out that these don't fit my stands, so I ordered in a pair of adaptors on Christmas Eve and they actually arrived today (shipped from Amazon in the US, so full credit where due). Beyond this, got some Canadian Bourbon (Bearfaced) and some smellies. Quote

If you’re ok with regular Guinness then give it a try, I used to drink it whenever I could get my hands on it - only place I could find that sold it regularly was an offie at Apex Corner, Edgware. 1 Quote

I’d advise to play some test tones/ sine waves and random playlists through them for a few days and then try again. What if theyre vintage? Or made of tone-plastic, or fender-badged? Surely they would be truly magical from the moment of manufacture and defy all reasonable expectations from first use? ✨ Edited 6 hours ago by Geek99 1 Quote

It's really nice and I prefer it to the regular stuff tbh! Quote
Jonesy Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) Not many bass related pressies for me, but I did get some dosh and have just spent it on..... Xvive a58 - this means instead of standing perfectly still a few meters away from my amp, I can stay still up to 30 meters away from my amp. Gator pro go ultimate gig bag - should keep things nice and comfy when out and about. Some plectrums - wanted to try a few different gauges/types. I'm probably most curious about the felt one I have on the way! Edited 6 hours ago by Jonesy 1 Quote
