My first bass amp was made by Ohm and was bought in about 1983 secondhand from ABC music along with a Laney 1x15" cab.

I had a wave of nostalgia seeing a similar amp for sale on the cash converters website, however this one has a built-in compressor whereas I am certain that mine inexplicably had a built-in flanger instead of the compressor. I cannot remember the model number of the amp I owned, however I remember it looking very much like the GA140 in the listing.

Does anyone else remember these amps? Was there a version with a flanger or am I misremembering?

I had the exact same head about 23/23 years ago. Did a fine job.

My first ‘proper ‘ bass amp with cabinet was an OHM . Bought cheap as chips at the time from a friend  . Not only was the head amp very big , heavy and bulky . The cabinet could fit a whole road crew inside . My cat used to sleep in it ! Great sound …very loud ! Buzzing windows! That big click sound whenever it was turned on .Mine had a flanger on it , with a foot switch . Times were hard then ,and it was the stone age . Bass players are blessed these days…

I seemed to remember I played through an Ohm with two footswitches in a plastic housing, but I needed Google to help me.
Here's what its AI Overview opined:

"One user on an online forum did recall a specific, otherwise generic-looking bass amp that inexplicably had a built-in flanger, which might be the one you are thinking of."

Right!
We got our answer!  :D

Yep, I went to their “factory” unit in Knutsford in Cheshire many years back. Interesting visit, not a big outfit at all, much like Ashdown in Essex, another surprisingly small facility, although Ashdown are looking to expand into surrounding factory units last I heard.

Our old bass player used Ohm for years via an Aria ZZ bass, decent sound I seem to remember, although it was 40yrs ago.

My first bass amp was an Ohm 'Pukka' bass combo. 60 watts, 15" speaker, 5 band EQ with compressor if I recall. Really weli made and good looking bit of kit, it sounded great and I have fond memories.
