Thrash player as a student, now just a bedroom player of thrash.

Looks like your predecessor played with fingers:

Had a great listen, really enjoyed it. I play with both a pick and fingers. I prefer fingers from the point of view that there are more dynamics, accents, etc possible, but obviously a pick is easier for stamina / fatigue / injuries. Three fingers is also good if just straight speed is needed, but I'm not too good at playing complex lines with 3.

thanks folks some great posts there im a finger player through and through although ive spoken to a lot of folk that think a pick is the only way to get the attack required, i disagree of course.
im working on my two finger technique with up down strokes on each finger for the really fast stuff but im enjoying the pace generally of the stuff.
dave my predecessor was a cool guy, it was a shame he had to step down due to health issues.

As soon as Preston and Thrash are mentioned in the same sentence I think of one band. The very mighty Xentrix. My thrash heart belongs to them I reckon, so being as you're in Preston too then, there's a bit of love there for ya!

I thrash mostly with a pick. Some songs I'll play fingerstyle for reasons that only make sense in my head :)
