  7. i agree im not blown away, i expected a little more zing in the top end, be nice to see how the classic compares tonally, still wanna try one though.
  8. I'll wait for a limited edition artwork version, love my m900 v1 but was gutted when the medusa version came out as I couldn't justify the cost getting one. I'm particularly fond of Christopher Lovell artwork.
  9. It's not about the multiscale or asthetics for me, I can take em or leave em generally, it's all about that neck profile. It's a different beast entirely if it works as it does on guitar. I'm not interested in any other basses, I've already got the traditional bass covered. I don't think you can directly compare one of these with anything else on the market. That being said they are still too bloody expensive lol.
  10. I was intending to jump in and just get one based on my experience with the guitars (I would never go back to a traditionaldesign ) but at 3k I need to play it first before shelling out that much. I want to make sure the benefits translate to a bigger instrument, I'm still very keen , if it works as well I think it will be worth the money in the long run. The figure in my head was 2.5k max but I was hoping it might be a little less. I need to get my hands on one .
  11. Hopefully within the budget I agreed with my wife haha
  12. We shall see, not really too much point speculating at the moment, they may be the same, the prog may be more, we will find out in a couple of weeks. It does depend on the quality of the ebony and maple, ebony without lighter streaks has gone up a large amount in the last few years due to logging laws. Tbh I'm not bothered, if that neck profile works as well on the bass as the guitar version it will be money well spent in my eyes. hopefully there won't be too much between them though.
  13. No nut width yet but here's the rest of the known details, namm should reveal anything else.
  14. i was the same before getting my Xylem which is a tone monster and only 6.75lb (about 3kg) i agree though generally most lightweight basses i have tried do seem to lack something.
  15. i agree tone wise, you know what you are getting with nordstrand/darkglass stuff so its all about that that endurneck. is the darkglass pre cheaper than the nordstrand one? cant be much in it can there, the pickups are (slightly) more expensive in the prog and a decent piece of ebony is generally more expensive than the maple board on the classic so i would expect it to be a little more overall. its the first endurneck for a bass so i would expect that to be the biggest factor in the design and testing stage, the original endurneck has been tweaked over the years and the current standard is a little different to my 3 year old os6 so im glad they are taking the time because its THE most important thing in making this product stand out from the crowd.
  16. All details at namm apparently, I assume they are released then too as they are due to land in january. I think it's fate as namm weekend is when my 40th lands, I'm gonna throw cation to the wind a buy a prog as long as the prices aren't too silly, my os6 guitar was a real game changer.
  17. It does say starting line-up 4 and 5 string versions implying that there is more to follow, considering the stock guitars go up to 8 string I'm sure there will be a 6, I'm curious to see if they stretch to a 7 at some point though.
  18. With my os6 guitar i felt that the scale difference was there to aid erganomics primarily instead of bieng all about string tension and it feels very natural, you dont really notice the fan but it eases some finger strain in the upper registers and makes t hings very comfortable. Im hoping the bass has a similar feel.
