1. Ill be interested to see what kind of pickup configurations, electronics and finishes they go for . Heres hoping for a maple board/ black hardware option with a purple/blue burst finish and a darkglass tone capsule. Pickups wise the guitars tend to use suhr/seymour duncan/fishman/lace so i would expect to see something from one of those brands on there.
2. This may be a little premature but im super excited by this. Ola strandberg posted this on fb with the phrase something is cooking #bodenbass. my main bass is a sublime xylem custom so its rare for a new bass to excite me but ill be preordering one of these asap. I treated myself to a boden os6 guitar last year and its so far ahead of the competition in terms of playabity and erganomics. The endurneck really does make such a difference, strange at first but so comfortable. There was a prototype boden bass made a few years ago (video on youtube)and i have messaged several times enquiring about possible production but always met with the answer 'not any time soon' Hopefully there wont be too long a wait.
3. .............................interesting relic job........................ http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Westone-Thunder-A1-bass-oxblood-relic-/302452780884?hash=item466b972f54:g:nFQAAOSwCXxZurGH
4. Thanks for the info. Ill do a test before going for it. Im just getting the design adjusted a little before committing it to the bass :^)

6.
If you are doing the artwork over the present finish, then actually you wouldn't need to strip the present finish off - just matt it off with fine wet and dry to provide a key, paint the artwork, then spray clear over the top?
this has got to be worth a go, much easier to fix if i get it wrong haha, typically my weekend has filled up too, definitely looking forward to seeing how this comes out, the artwork is quite ambitious.
7. very nice job, love the green, thanks for all the info and pics, i think im going to bite the bullet this weekend and give it a go :^)
8. i have just acquired an early westone thunder 1 a in light oak finish, its a real player im looking to have it refinished with some custom 1 colour detailed artwork which is being done for me by a tattoo artist who has not had any experience with guitars before. where to start though im not sure what kind of lacquer is has, there is a mark on the back of it where it has reacted to the rubber on a guitar stand at some point over the years if that may be a clue. does anyone have any suggestions as to what to use, weather it might be better to put the artwork on top of the existing lacquer finish or strip it down first? any advice on the matter would be appreciated. many thanks.
9. i used to run a workingpro 700 amp into a goliath III (4x10) and a big ben (1x18), great sound, couldn't fault it, i only got rid to downsize. i had a studio 220 head too, paired with an efficient cab it was great. clean hifi sound with plenty of punch.
10.
Anyone know the words to that last one?
lost you there
11. thanks folks some great posts there im a finger player through and through although ive spoken to a lot of folk that think a pick is the only way to get the attack required, i disagree of course. im working on my two finger technique with up down strokes on each finger for the really fast stuff but im enjoying the pace generally of the stuff. dave my predecessor was a cool guy, it was a shame he had to step down due to health issues.
12. i just recently joined Preston thrashers Solitary as my 2nd band and played my first 2 gigs in the last week or so are there any other thrash players on here that don't use a pick? i have had several comments about the fact that i don't, none of them bad i was just surprised by this. im just curious on players preference in this genre anyhow heres what we do, check em out if you like that kind of thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncm0V0LjOos
13. No. Missed out in the end. I quite fancied it but would have liked to have tried it first but I only stumbled across the listing a few hours before it was due to end.
14. This looks interesting and near me too. Does anyone one know much about them or what would be a fair price. I'm thinking of putting a bid in. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/232222910569
15. Hmmmm I don't need it but I do want it. Good little mixers these.
16.
Cheers for the heads up on this, just got one and it works a treat.
nice one, its a cracking little case and a lot cheaper and more sturdy than the official gig bag, im very pleased with mine
17. same here, i have been wanting to switch between all 3 settings, just adding different levels of drive is useful especially using the VMT when just wanting to thicken things up when a dual lead harmony is going on and then still have the ability go full on b3k to make any particular parts jump out of the mix. yeah a separate eq would be great but to be honest the drive section sounds great without the need for it for me.
18. Yup I reckon 4 switches was a good call. I'm tempted , how much is the big question for me.
19. actually i think i have come across the thread where you picked it up, looks bang on ill take it if its still available
20. im interested in the pickup do you have the dimensions? i know its available in different sizes, thanks
