  1. Yeah, that's an awesome one. So far so good so what was my favourite when I was young, but now if I'm honest with myself Rust in Peace is. I want to hear Marty Friedman playing Into the Lungs of Hell off so far... but I can't find any recording where he's done it.
  2. I'm sure that's where the phrase comes from. I play in my bedroom if I need to escape the kids, so it's the reverse of that! I use it to mean a player who doesn't play live (ie me), it probably started out as being derogatory, but I'm reclaiming it! Even Cliff was a bedroom bassist once!
  3. I don't actually play in my bedroom either.. well not often. Just a phrase.
  4. I stopped playing for a while after my last band. Picked it up again about 5 years ago and have been solo bedroom player except for the odd jam/party/campfire. It's probably natural to come and go from it a bit. I used to think it was all about getting ready to play in bands but now I get more enjoyment for it's own sake and there's always the faint possibly the right group of people will magically come together to play again. If you enjoy it, stick with it. I'm sure 99% of players are bedroom only anyway.
  5. I started off being entertained by that but then it truly sucked the life out of me and I started losing the will to live! Sounded a little bitter and twisted to me and based on what they became rather than what they were then. Made a good point about all the remakes of Beyond the Realms of Death, of which Metallica have at least 3. With reviews like that though, it's a wonder anyone ever picks up an instrument and dares to have a go. I think what gets missed in these things about who is the greatest etc, is creativity and energy. It's not just virtuosity and sometimes not even that. Cliff had that in spades. Happy Cliff 'em All Day!
  6. Tricky one raffles. They are running it to benefit a registered charity so they should be ok. Fairly sure if it's run online they need to register with their local authority. Could easily be wrong though. Tempting to enter regardless.
  7. It's the old version of the American Standard Pickup, just called American Standard Pickup. I think they changed the Am Std P Bass pickups to the 62 version but kept the 'Am Std' pickup for the special run Mex basses (Classic 50, Roadworn, etc). I have the honey one, which like yours is fantastically light. So light I put resolite tuners on it so it balances better. That changed the tone a huge amount actually, much brighter, I have to roll off 1/4 turn of tone to get the pre tuner change tone. I also changed the pickup to the SD SPB1, but that's just to get a certain sound.
  8. I noticed that as well. Then again I already have a few options for those on my board, when I'm done travelling, so I probably shouldn't get greedy.
  9. I take it that's just for the B1on series pedals?
  10. I agree, it's 60 quid in most places now, so my order is going in this weekend.
  11. Actually I was just talking about the G1 when it comes to clean blends. I find a lot of guitar effects, especially drives will sound good on bass if they have a clean blend. Not so worried with the B1. I did also download both sets of manuals to check out the parameters. But basically I didn't like the sound of the G1 much at all, so that solved the problem.
  12. Bit of a scout round, most of the G1 effects don't have a clean blend, plus, I don't like how it sounds in the demos. Maybe I've been a bit spoilt with tube combos. But... the B1 sounds pretty good in the demos, so I think I'll go for that seeing as I'll be playing bass 80% of the time.
  13. Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I'll have to check out the G1 effects list to see if they have a clean blend.
  14. Thread resurrection! I'm going to be living out of a suitcase for a while and need a headphone amp. I'd like one box for both Guitar and Bass though. The B1 or G1 looks to be the best solution for the price. Can you load Guitar patches onto the B1-Four?
  15. I ran my guitar into my Walkabout (at home) for a while. It's sound could best be described as 'jazz guitar'. I assume Mr Homme is using ampeg valve amps but maybe not with bass cabs? Seems to be a lot more cross over with valve amps, with fender bassman, hiwatt and marshalls all being used for both.
  16. You are in exalted company, he trashed Faith No More as well. Absolute verbal diarrhea. http://www.pushstuff.co.uk/mmlives/faithnomore040688.html
  17. I'm no expert, but isnt that a non stienberger bridge and head piece? Also the fingerboard looks strange, shouldn't it be resin not rosewood?
  18. I didn't screen shot it, but I do remember the name, and can find his facebook page if the OP needs it.
  19. Seller seems to have removed it from sale plus an epihone rivoli he had up.
  20. Never seen the bass version in the flesh. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193724052913
  21. I'm probably getting confused about garageband, it's a while since I used it, it seemed to be a lot quicker than my pc method. I use ableton for audio and premiere for video. It all just seems over the top and slow for my needs. I'll take a look at davinci.
  22. Out of interest, what daw are you using for sound and video editing? I'd like to be able to record audio and video at the same time without endless syncing issues and cutting and pasting between daw and video editor. Garageband is the only one I've seen that does it quickly and easily but I dont have access to a decent mac.
  23. I reported the jazzmaster on that listing yesterday. Didn't check at the time to see the other listings. I'm surprised ebay took so long. Maybe they only investigate if they get several reports.
  24. I don't know if these ads are fake as such, but they are definitely outside Ebay rules so will be taken down soon. I assume it's a scam though. Clue is the the email address in the photos.
