I used to love their album "Citadel" back in the days when I listened to loads of Prog stuff.

There are bucketloads of electronic artists I like, yet which few people have heard of (but that comes with the territory!).

As for more conventional bands, probably NoMeansNo, Butthole Surfers and Mercury Rev are all bands that I love, yet which rarely get a mention on here or amongst my group of friends. Oh and Half Man Half Biscuit. Them too.

Tetra Splendour

Had an album called 'Splendid Animation' about 2001.

Last I'd heard they'd rebranded to be called 'People In Planes' and made another 3 or 4 amazing albums. But I love Splendid Animation so much.

There was a chap called Matthew Jay out around the same time - he had a great album called 'Draw'. Died tragically falling from a balcony.

'Let your shoulder fall'

And a band called 'The A.M' led by Michael Tighe of Jeff Buckley's band. Ace band. Just slipped off the radar.

'The Changeling'

Great stuff.

I'm going to try my luck with Imatran Voima and also Si Begg. If you've heard of either, I doff my cap. If you haven't, give 'em a go.

I was a big fan of The Truth in the early 80's. They rose from the ashes of Nine Below Zero after their split.
They never really made it that big, although they did get on Top Of The Pops with this. Any one recall it?

And Curve - i think they sort of got shoved into the Bands With One Word As Their Name category of shoegaze but...
I love curve. I don't know why they were considered shoegaze, I never saw Toni Halliday look at her shoes once!

Surprised they aren't more popular here - they tend to have very prominent bass lines.

Italian trio Nova are one unknown gem from my collection. Their LP Vimana has been on my playlist for decades
I have that album. Percy Jones and Narada Michael Walden guesting. Brilliant stuff.

Saw Gordon Giltrap at an Edinburgh folk club 10 or 12 years ago. Still brilliant.

Backdoor - another long forgotten trio with one of our best bassists - colin Hodgkinson

And easily my favourite 70's glam rock band - Brownsville Station - at least one of their albums gets spun up once or twice a month. Shame there's only a greatest hits on CD - my LPs are starting to get a bit shabby.

Curve fans might be interested to know that Dean's current band Spc Eco still features his distinctive bass playing. Much as I loved Curve, I actually prefer Spc Eco.
I am - I am very interested, thanks!

After a listen, not quite up to where Curve were, they are interesting in their own right. Vocally closer to Wolf Alice than Curve.

A mention of Black Oak Arkansas usually draws a blank look when mentioned. I first saw them supporting Black Sabbath in '74 - what a gig! I saw them several times after that and still love them. A very entertaining and tight live band. I always list Pat Daugherty as one of my fave bass players - nothing fancy, he just did the job perfectly imho. Oh yes, the awesome Tommy Aldridge on drums before he made it big time.

Somebody earlier mentioned The River City People :-) We first saw them supporting Tina Turner at Woburn and still love their albums. Actually, I think I enjoyed them more than I did Tina, although she was her usual incredible self :-) We went to see RCP a coupe of times again, but then they split. A band I was in a few years ago used to do a cover of What's Wrong with Dreaming.
