I have several in mind many already covered in this topic but I nominate Tim Commerford of RATM and Audioslave. With my 90s rock cover band we play a lot of their songs and he just has so many cool lines. And Patrick O'Hearn, great fretless player and my favourite Zappa bass player. Maude Posted March 7, 2015 Share Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) I am going to add Victor Damiani who played on some of CAKEs first album and all of their second, Fashion Nugget. I love cake and Gabe Nelson, who Victor replaced and then handed duties back to, is awesome but for me Victor just has that something extra. Doesn't need to overplay, just play what the song needs but when he does lay down a serious line he has such groove. Not flashy at all and one of the few low hangin bass players I can take seriously. The guy from everything everything also has some killer lines.
