  1. Definitely spoilt for choice just now aren't we! Hadn't looked at the Chowny site for a while and the new Trans Blue is 😍 it would probably be my pick of the short scales readily available just now.

  3. Julia making this sound pretty cool. And now I want one. Bother.
  4. Rapidly approaching the point in lockdown where I want to sell a bass just so I can buy a new toy 😂

Not sure yet....Maybe I'll upgrade some pickups on one of them. Just want some thing new to mess with

This lockdown has cost be a bloomin' fortune. A government imposed GASfest!

I sold a car during the lock down, that's how I bought so many toys since 😛

Too much time spent at the computer, too many temptations...

  5. Probably less so now and everything is so standardised by CNC machines but there will be higher quality materials etc used between series hence the price difference.
  6. I got one of the 5 string versions at Deko pricing (about £75) when I wanted to see if I liked 5 strings after not having one for years. It was brilliant and only replaced as a Sub 5er came up at a stupid price. Only thing is the bridge is really far up the body so its a big bass.
  7. I'm intrigued by this style of learning but failed in finding out how much the $50 off the annual subscription actually equates to. If a member doesn't mind disclosing, how much is the annual subscriptions as it stands?
  8. Hmmm that's nice! Interesting to see them putting more premium features in this range. Will be interesting to see how these go, the appeal of these seems to be the low price and how well they do for that price.
  9. Give me a minute, but I'm pretty sure I saw a guy on Facebook selling two of these earlier this week! Edit: was selling both for £500. Maybe worth trying to see if they are still available
  10. Cant argue with that level of customer service 😅
  11. Ah the answer I was afraid of! But it does make sense as to why they are so revered.
  12. I just watched this video and that sounds killer and must be nice to get a wee shout out @ped. So for those of us who can't afford a Smith, how do I get close to that tone? He made that sound killer!
  13. Here to advocate La Bella White Nylons. I've got the Copper which are quite warm but the White are brighter, bonus is no finger noise and they come in standard and medium scale.
  14. Love that! (Except the bridge thing) almost exactly like the Joe Dart signature model if you're a fan of Vulfpeck etc.
  15. Some very nice looking basses in there! But my favourite was the way they displayed these left handed models 😅
  16. For those with something in mind, BassDirect are running 6 months 0% interest on all basses and amps...Welp.

oooh, might have wished I hadn't read this, had my eye on a few bits on their site

Worth noting that it's only for NEW products

  17. Well if you want to pretty much finish one then pass it on to me to finish that would be great 😁 These look great and with Mayones etc making tiny basses there is obviously desire for them (mostly from me)
  18. Nice haul for one week! Have to say if there's one trade deal I'd like the government to sort out it would be free imports from Japan. Everytime I'm looking for a bass on eBay there's an abundance of them in Japan in cooler/rare finishes 😅
  19. Hmmm, slight oversight on the burglary plan @TheGreek 😂 That looks great and is exactly what I imagine when I want a wee bass next to me on the sofa.
  20. Jeez, if everyone here had that sort of bass gear as their starting point! 😂 Very nice, enjoy!

  22. @Kev have you seen this thread? One 5er and 6er bought and reviews seem pretty good!
  23. On the issue of weight. It would have been really cool to see EB release a short scale Sterling. The shortie seems to be very decent by all accounts but the shrunk body looks a bit weird, granted I haven't seen it in the wood yet!
  24. That was exactly my point. Similar to the issue with the custom basses from BITE guitars, why mess with headstocks? I reckon most people would deal with a quirky design/twist to the body and a more reserved headstock design.
  25. Schecter seem to be making the right moves with some of their vintage inspired model and this is close, but the headstock. Yeesh. Not the worst but since they have far more standard looking headstocks in their arsenal it just looks odd.
