1. What about the Devon hotel in Matford.tIt's easily accessible with parking and just out of town. I have been to auditions and seminars there.
2. I would be interested if it's close to Exeter. I'm in Torquay which is close enough.
3. War Pigs - Black Sabbath. We have had a pub singing along to this. The intro and guitar solo sections will keep you busy for a while. Crazy Train - Ozzy. Great fun to play.
4. Hi and welcome. Never been on Talkbass but hopefully this is all we need.
5. Mrs Mep did it and got 9/10. She is not a bass player and got Coldplay's bass player wrong. I am impressed and embarrassed.
6. I use one but only for getting out front for sound checks as other have commented. Seems ok for that.
7.
Biker festivals - pretty sure they would love your material.
I wish this was the case with the local bike festival down my way. I am a biker and have been going to it since it started. I met the guy who books the bands at a bike night, in my bike gear, and introduced myself etc and gave him our card and explained who we are and that loads of people wonder why we don't play the festival. Didn't get a look in the for the next festival. Will try again this year for the next one. One problem is I heard he won't book a band if he even thinks they are too heavy!
8. I definately won't be watching the concert on Sky Arts 1 this week.
9. This is still happening? Had the same problem years ago snd have never used the steel round wounds since. Happened when I was recording so was well pi55ed.
10. Good luck with your gig. Be sure to let us know how you get on.
11. You can push the poles in so they are flush with the pup cover. Ideally with the strings off or loosened so you can gain access. You can't push too hard as they will stop when your fingers reach the pup cover. I did this to even them out as I was experiencing quieter D & G strings. But of course there is no such problem over at the EBM forum, as you have found out!
12. I have read that the compressor should be before the ovtaver in order to even out the signal but tru both.

Looks like the 3B model if it has the through neck and active pups. I have the 2B model with standard neck and passive pups. Should play nice and is built like a tank.
14. Good luck and have fun. Nothing wrong with Tie Your Mother Down. One our best songs. Edit. I hope you know how to pull off as you will be doing it a lot!
15. To hide the weedy bridge!
16. Looks good. Hope you really dig it. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
17. For years I was using a smiley face eq. Now I favour the low mid boost in a slight frown on my 12 band. It can sound boxy but works a treat in a band setting. Make your final choice st a gig venue, not at home and with the whole band.
18. I have one too. TBH I was disappointed with the suppled strings and a new set sorted that out. The action is great but after a few gigs I'm not too sure about it as a main gigging bass. Something is just missing but I have been gigging my Ray for year's so it's going to sound different and it's not really fair to compare these 2 side by side. I mainly use it for practising. I did have an issue with mine at first due to it's light weight. I though something was wrong and started a thread about it. Still great value for the money though and I'm glad you like yours.
19. The last music shop in Torquay closed recently. TBH I have only bought a few thing in there and would generally buy online. Now the nearest shop is Mansons, which I like but can't always justify the 40 mile round trip very often. I have most of what I need bass wise any buy strings in bulk online. I need a few PA things occasionally and that is online too.
20. Well seeing as though I posted his picture I thought I'd better do some research. He looks like Rob Jones from Missing Andy! Only trouble is our Rob Jones would be too old now as Missing Andy's Rob is only 30. https://twitter.com/...ssingandy/media Rob Jones is a common name. The founding member of Wonderstuff was Rob Jones, R.I.P. I don't think it was him though.
21. Smooth. Thanks for posting.
22. Isn't your PayPal ID your email address anyway. What's the difference? That's just another reason to suspect it's a scam.
23. Usual BS story and poorly written email. Delete it and move on.
