1. 10 for Mrs Mep
2. After that there is More Bad News. Enjoy.
3. 9 for me. Some wild guesss that didn't always work out.
4. Played 3 sets at the coach house in Paignton. Tickets sold out. It's our favourite local pub and last night was a belter. Fancy dress was very popular and all 4 of us went for it. A long night and my vocals and ears had enough by 1am. Took the effort to video it too which may be interesting looking back. Got to go and collect what gear we left now.
5.
'Air' from J S Bach's Orchestral Suite No 3 has to be one of the most recognisable bass parts even if due to shortsightedness on the composer's part it was not originally written for bass guitar.
Maybe, but how many know it's by Bach and the name of the piece? To be recognised fully the name of the piece of music must be known. It's a great piece and was heard by millions of people back in the day of the Hamlet cigar add. The beginning should be in every bass players arsenal.

RIP Lemmy
BBC News keep saying he was famous for his fast and furious guitar playing. w***ers, if your going to do an obituary, get it right. Right, where's that JD bottle? Your going to get punished tonight.
Their online report on the news app now mentions bass guitar. Sad but inevitable news. When I saw him on tv at Glastonbury he looked like he had gone downhill. Mrs Mep was given a Motorhead vinyl album for Christmas. Better get it on, turn it up and pour some Jack Daniels.
7. Trad - No way. Be Bop (a Lula) - Don't say maybe!
8. Thanks for posting. Link to download programme to unzip files great too.
9. Great read so far. Keep it going. I'll be checking in for some more soon.
10. Glam if pushed. Never got thrash.
11. Mystery bass player solved. You know. The waistcoat wearing Fran. If you haven't read it yet do yourself a favour and immerse yourself in some BC sleuth.
12. We are playing at our favorite pub. Will be doing an extra short set after midnight. Fancy dress is optional but very popular. Last year we played the same venue and had a great time.
13. Good luck with the rehearsal tonight. When is your next gig?
14. There have been few threads recently about this. There are plenty of options if you want to raise your cab / speakers. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/270056-raising-small-cabs-off-the-ground/page__p__2873536__hl__lifting%20cab__fromsearch__1#entry2873536 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/262922-lifting-your-bass-cab-off-the-floor/page__hl__lifting%20cab http://basschat.co.uk/topic/256664-sitting-cab-on-top-of-flight-case/page__p__2702282__hl__lifting%20cab__fromsearch__1#entry2702282
15. Good advice from colgraff. I too play in a 1 guitar rock covers band. I use an octaver if the original song needs it and for the occasional flurry to the dusty end for some variety. I also have a chorus pedal that comes on for a few songs. You don't need to go too mad with pedals. Get a good level and a sound that can cut through and fill the space. Make sure you and the drummer are super tight. Have fun. I have always enjoyed a 1 guitar band and i'm sure you will too.
16. I have recently changed to D'Addario Pro Steel strings and am suitably impressed with them. I too play fingerstyle & with a pick. I then completely changed my rig and they still sound great. I have used Rotosound Nickel rounds and Elites before but am happy to stick with the D'Addario's
17. Our band has a pair of EV ZLX15P active PA speakers. We are a 4 piece, vox, guitar, bass/bv & drums. It was a step up from passive speakers and power amp. The vocals, guitar and bass drum always go through. On very rare occasions myself and the drum overhead need to go through. We play small to medium pubs and this is enough. There is still some volume left on the back of the active speakers. A sub would beef the sound up but for us and the places we play it's not worth the extra expense and equipment.
18. Sony mini disc deck player / recorder, model MDS S38, in good working order. Comes with remote control, operating instructions, 2 x phono leads, 6 x discs & disc bag. There are some signs of wear, especially on the top and 1 side, as it is has been used live and taken to gigs to play backing tracks. For sale at £50 which includes postage to mainland UK. 19. I have 2 and they are very useful. There is a good YouTube video for tuning them. Check tuning before each gig and off you go. Some good tips already posted. Once you get used to them its all good.
20. My old Trace AH200 running at 4 ohms was loud enough for most pub gigs without PA support and I rarely went past 2 on the main volume output.
21. They were very good. Ok now. 4 is the max but possibly 1 or 2 too many. Mind you I can't real talk as we do 4 ACDC songs in our set.
22. I have recent;y bought a Retro Two10 of FuNkShUi. It came with the glue and stick kit. I have applied it and will see how long it lasts, but i will be living with it. Great sounding cab.
23. It's a great song and a good bass line. We do it in our band. I suggest learning it properly, it's not too difficult. Don't be tempted to make bits of it up and be a bit lame. I have heard bass players do this and it's not good IMO. And as others have said, use a pick.
24. Shameless plug. I'm selling my AH200 on here. It is flight casesed wirh a TE UV light but im able to sell them all separately. Trace stuff is great. I have just bought va TC classic 450 and am very happy with that too.
