1. In terms of sheer quality and sonic gorgeousness, my Shuker custom 5. In terms of bang-per-buck, Sire V7 Marcus Miller.
2. I've always been partial to 12/8. It's a bouncy happy signature. ☺
3. Please don't do that skank. If you took a gentleman's walk into the woods with your Webley, I don't *snif* think I could carry on... *sob*
4. I have three that see regular use:

the built-in one on my Pod XT Live;
my trusty old Korg DT-7;
a cheapo clip-on that does ok with all strings apart from low B.
The Korg is the only one I use for anything delicate such as setting intonation.
5. Definitely go along.
6. My mate had a silverface Fender Twin and used it in exactly the way mentioned by Mm20 above -- standalone for lovely crystal clean tones, or with a TS9 for those dirty moments. It was the perfect rig, apart from the fact that the Twin weighed as much as a truck and only had one poxy handle.
7. I love Yamaha basses. Near unbeatable VFM in my opinion.
8. I'm still trying to work out exactly what makes it 'rare'... apart from its condition
9. He gives good bassface
10.
Why the snobby downer on chorus? Chorus and octave, learn Sledgehammer and have a blast.
? I have no downer on chorus. Quite the opposite.
11. "Do you admit to posting a thread entitled 'omg this drumer is at teh wrong gig lol' without using the forum search first?"
12.
Steve Vai once met me after a gig!
Yes I did meet you, and I'm a member on here too! although I generally use this alias. And JTUK.
13.
unless you want everything you do to sound like the theme music from Bergerac.
If all my fretless playing sounded like Mo Foster, I would be happier than a pig in sh*t.
14.
looks the part...just need to get some sound out of the sucker...
Oh good god, that is p0rn0graphic.
15. Antex irons are pretty good, my old XS25 iron was reliable and consistent. I have a Weller soldering station that I, ahem, borrowed from work and it's lovely. Worth looking for a similar setup on fleabay IMO if you're planning to do a lot of work in the future. I also have an Antex Gascat gas iron which is great for portability.
16. This isn't mine, but mine was identical. My first decent amp, a Laney ProBass 150w 4x10 combo that my wonderful amazing parents got me for my 21st birthday. It was a marvellous amp, and served me well for many years.
17. +1 for the Sire V7.
18.
And what type of physical condition your in also matters. If a guy is sporting a huge arse there's going to be some limitations.
'Arse'? Not 'ass'? We'll make a Brit of you yet
19. Everybody's calling it a 'non-story' and 'not news'... well given that it's in the Magazine section, I don't think it's actually intended to be news, just an item of interest.
20. Nice article about The Munch here. It raises a very good question... how long does it take to stop being the hired hand/new boy/etc. and actually become part of the band?
21.
Worst gig?=.......Pub in the middle of nowhere. No audience. Just the bar staff. And a cab driver taking the numbers up to three briefly but apparently sent to the wrong pub. This is what can go wrong. Any thing else by comparison is welcome.
Treat it as a rehearsal.
22. Any news?
23.
in my hurry to get my vampire teeth out
If I had a tenner for every time I've used that old excuse...
24. +1 for the Chowny CHB-1. It's not the woofy 60s monster that the retro looks might suggest, the tonal range is quite astounding. I eagerly hope for a 5-string version, for which I would be at the front of the queue.
25. You did say "If you've got any more questions..." -- maybe they don't?
