1.
I can feel a trip to B&Q coming on
I'm hoping that you're kidding.
 2. Just out of interest, I've weighed mine. Wal Pro 2E - 9lbs 12oz (amazed at this, it feels a lot more when I'm wearing it) Bitsa P bass - 9lbs 9oz (as per Wal, it feels a lot more after a couple of hours!) Sire V7 5-string - 9lbs 7oz Shuker custom 5-string - 8lbs 14oz Yamaha RBX765A - 7lbs 15oz OLP Ray - 8lbs 12oz Ibanez BTB 6-string - 9lbs 12oz Tanglewood acoustic bass - 5lbs 9oz
 3. There's nothing simple about any refinish, least of all black. The slightest blemish will stick out like a sore thumb. You get what you pay for.
 4.
No this is German Vith mein superior class D technologie I vill show zie whole world mein Heftenschlowisden!
It's actually "Viz mein zuperior" and "ze whole vurld", as any Teutonic stereotype will readily tell you.
 5.
I'm a member of Archers Appreciation FB group re the radio series. Swearing is quite tolerable to most of the group. I think even our illustrious leader has been known to lapse into the vernacular occasionally!
I expect 98% of the swearing is aimed at Rob Titchener and/or the editor
 6.
Thats german you fool!
You can turn it into French by simply adding "ow you say" before "eft".
 7. Pretty much my last contribution to TB was on a thread about celebrities who play musical instruments. I mentioned that Tony Blair (who was PM at the time) played guitar at one time. That was all -- but it was enough to earn me a public bollocking for supposedly contravening their 'no politics' rule..!
 8. So many to choose from. These will do for starters.
 9.
This is my bitsa, I started off as wanting a cheap jazz ended up with Wizard 84`s, Hipshot bridge, Fender tuners and a John East preamp off Neil Murray! I can honestly say I will never part with it. It needs a better plate though.
If you're after a darker tort, could I work in a cheeky plug for the one I'm selling? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/283339-jazz-bass-parts/page__view__findpost__p__3029905
 10. This is my bitsa P. A solid no-name body with a Squier Jazz neck, Wilko pickup and EMG 2 band eq. And a slightly incorrect decal The decal isn't an issue as I won't be selling it -- as has been said by others, it's worth tuppence-ha'penny to anyone except me really.
 11. IIRC Bunny Brunel uses piccolo tuning on his hex-equipped basses.
 12. Ohh yes, an absolute cracker that.
Lovely bass, Ibanez are on point right now.
Ain't that the truth. The SRF705 Portamento is the best off-the-peg fretless I've ever played. Bah. GAS.
 13.
I believe the threat wasn't over the music but the use of the word Eagles in the band name. They didn't have to pay any money out in the end. I was told it was Don Henley who instigated it.
Presumably he'll be having a word with the Eagles Of Death Metal too then
 14.
A pub I gig at now and again has reworked their menu as a tribute: The lamb koftas in a wrap are now Prince Of Persia The Southern fried chicken brioche is When Doves Fry The shared platter is Party Like It's ...£19.99 The 12oz rump steak is The Most Beautiful Grill In The World and the vegetarian special is Little Red Courgette
Brilliant
 15. He died on 14th April last year.
 16. It's yellower than it looks in the pics. The camera has added a slight green tinge but it's actually a primrose yellow. Yes, very striking! The neck pocket is 63.5mm wide x 17.5mm deep. I have no idea if that's standard Fender size or not, sorry. I'll leave the bridge on for the time being in case the body sells. Ask me again in a week
 17.
Alternatively, you could do a show on Inner City Sumo.
Or Monkey Tennis.
 18. The credits on his early albums say it all about the man's incredible talent: "All songs produced, arranged, composed and performed by Prince". I'm utterly knocked for six by this. His music is a large part of the soundtrack to my younger days... seeing Purple Rain at the flicks several times, buying the vinyl album and taping it for the car and then wearing that tape out... listening to Dirty Mind in my bedroom at home and hoping my mum wouldn't be able to hear what the lyrics were... watching Lovesexy 88 on the telly, openmouthed at the spectacle of it all. I never had a chance to see that spectacle for myself -- always hoped I would one day, but now it's gone forever. Heartbroken.
 19.
I also say anyone standing verticle playing an electric bass guitar in a rock band has been influenced by McCartney at some level whether they know it or not. Even if they've never heard of Paul McCartney. That's my take on it.
Yes we know that's your take on it, we've heard it a million times and we are NOT going down that road again. Any attempts to restart that argument, by anyone, will be removed. Also: *Rainey *Kaye *Clarke *Jaco Who on earth is 'Joco'?
 20. My two main leads are a pair of Klotz cables I bought in 1986. Still going strong.
 21.
You're all crazy! The only possible answer is http://www.mpamp.com/products/red-cables/ "SpinX is based on a nano treatment that can bring up nano-particles on the leading material with a very special process. After the treatment process the magnetic field caused by the signal flow starts to re-organize electrons. When the electrons are re-lined so called spin-wave is achieved, which partly participates to carry the signal with the normal charge current. The effect will spread and optimize the whole signal chain – in this case from instrument to speaker output." I mean, c'mon guys, it's a nano treatment!
Exactly, it's a no-brainer really. I mean, sure, OBBM's cables might be superbly made and extremely good value, but do they re-organise the electrons? Do they partly participate? I think not. C'mon people, get some snake-oil in your signal chain!
 22.
Now that this is a porn thread... Here's my Modulus Flea - just don't mention the star bangled banner
At one time, Kiwi had a Modulus Sonic Hammer -- which I believe was the bass on which the Flea model was based. It was an absolute monster. He brought it to my place once and we tried it at some considerable volume through my rig in the garage. If I recall correctly, a shelf fell off the wall.
