Fer me, it's random. Sometimes I'm thrown to the start, sometimes the end, and sometimes the middle of a thread. It's all very confusing.
Mine starts on the last page I viewed. In that, at least, it's consistent.

I do it when I know people are watching.
Axl Rose /thread
Yes. If anyone wants me I'll be under the stage hiding in a box until the rest of the band sign over their rights to me. Utter ****. However, if the question devolves into which frontman would you shoot, I'd still elect for Axl - I'd just pull the trigger as he walked in front of Morrissey. Ballistics should take care of the rest, and thus the meat-eating world will be safe for another day.

Post your pictures, Lets see what you all look like.
I don't get caught with bass face very often, but I got caught brilliantly last weekend - I look like I'm in pain or something
Word association: play that funky music, white boy. Lovely Gibson. If we're car chasing the infidel, I'll drive; you shoot. -
Mr Moody Git.
Do you also hunt ghosts, Discreet? -
Derek Acorah has said that John is very happy with his new signature basses.
On the plus side though, he at least had the decency to give you the dosh for the re listing but that doesn't make it right.
Whilst appreciating it is a contract to buy, we all know there's wriggle room all over the place on this one. There shouldn't be; but there is. C'est la vie. So, on the bright side, you got £20 out of it - which is more than the average timewaster kicks out - and on to the next bidder.

It's the acid in the drinking water. Did you not know?
Coat return appreciated. My attempt at a light-hearted sales thread has not gone as planned. Sort of. So - to return to the sale - anybody want to buy my 2008 MIA Precision?
Worked a blinder, chief - loved it and self-bumping! Sadly I don't have the TIM for another base. I need one that is good for metal.

Ask three bass players, get five opinions... Depends on what you're there for. As I said, I don't drink at my desk. If you're earning your crust, leaving off the drink and playing the professionalism angle makes perfect sense. But if you're out for a laugh, then playing the serious owl act could leave you looking like a stuffy twat. Find your balance, bass players of the world. There's no right or wrong answer, if you're happy; the band are happy; and the music works.
-
I don't drink at my desk, where I earn my crust; but I'll happily have a drink at rehearsal. I play for fun, and it's a case of just doing whatever makes it fun - sometimes getting all clean and serious; sometimes having a jar. I'd only complain if it stopped being fun - if it stopped people playing and enjoying the music. Maybe practice your drinking?

You thought your pissy little bass blisters were bad?

I don't Mrs Gus would let me into bed, with hands like those! -
Good to see a fellow Leeds fan on the site. A very sad day for Leeds - 12 years since the horror in Turkey. RIP Chris and Kev
MOT.

Didn't the BC Facebook page have a chap in Africa playing one of these?
-
New Model Barmy? Fair play to you all for giving it a shot - shows just how good you chaps are, and it's all to your credit in my eyes

A stroll through the pubs of town on a weekend reveals a fair few covers bands on. I didn't think they were totally drying up, and probably more popular in some areas than others - York is very pretentious, and seemingly overflowing with this punk-folk thing at the moment. It's cos we're all middle class, see?
-
It's on the list of basses I should own, at least once - but I think vanity would draw me to the 2024 model, which is quite some outlay. How are the necks on these basses?
-
I was going to say "a little", but am not sure if I've misread part of the conversation. I play in a rock band because that's what I want to play - on that level I would say there can, really, be no compromise. However you justify it, you need to be playing something you have an interest in to make it work. Therein comes the compromise - around precisely how the sound will play out; what songs; etc.

It has a touch of death about it, but do agree it's a boss name

My mate has a van called Nelson Vandela - it's some old railway services van, with portaloo in the rear. Classy
question: how could you improve your customshop jazz? what doesn't it do that you want it too? Just as the three basses in your sig are fender designed jazz/pj I think you are looking at an amazing jazz bass but I wonder what would be the step up from fender custom shop? Something active? or a very well built version by overwater or sei or someone?
Overwater, Sei, Bacchus, Lakland US, Shuker, Alleva? Some of those would be well out of the £1,000 price range, mind, unless aiming second-hand. You're right, though, Luke - it would be good to know more about what would make it 'special'.
-
Ah... you learn something new every day And, a bloody good bass it was too!
-
You seem to play Jazzes - so maybe get out there and find that 'special' Jazz? I posted a thread about finding 'the one' a month ago; I can't do it, or simply haven't found it yet - and I'm still a little sceptical about those who claim they have done so. I mean, one bas; for everything? Maybe it'll come to me later in life, grasshopper, but not today. Why not combine some of your lesser-played basses, maybe 2 of the four, and push for one nicer one instead? Less extreme, but still consolidation.

Guy finds 62/63 Shell Pink Jazz Bass..it's all going off on Talkbass

This news to happen. For justice. Look, I shouldn't be encouraging you; but yeah, it would be a reet chuckle -
