1. Well, I think the key difference is that you're in High-Def and with unlimited broadband.
 2. Don't you have to be dead, biologically, for that transaction to complete? I was kinda hoping they'd upload my brain to the interwebs, or something sci-fi, prior to skipping off the mortal coil. As we all know that the interwebz are only ever used for pron, this seems like the ideal outcome for an inquisitive (albeit body-less) mind.
 3. +1 to the Gripmaster/Fretmaster for building strength. A little trick I borrowed when I damaged the nerves in my right arm, very useful.
 4.
You sent it back before he paid for it being sent back?
This and absolutely this. It's not simply a case of beware Ebay/Paypal, but as much a case of beware what you're doing. If you paid via Paypal, as is suggested above, you would have been able to claim the a refund of the shipping costs - and given yourself a platform for claiming any further return costs. No payment for returns, no return - and let Paypal refund you for the remainder. Once it escalates they're normally very quick to see through sellers being obstinate around the return of damaged/mis-sold items.
 5. I would suggest it's a reaction to the rather ridiculous nature of the thread, Nige. That said, we can't even have RIP threads without dividing opinion, so perhaps this was doomed from the start. Anyway, we all have to die, Nige; I'm going to attempt to make light out of it, in the hope that I can convince myself it's no big deal, so I can avoid blubbing on my death bed. Which I'll still do, knowing me.
 6.
This made me chuckle. I've never thought of adding that to my bass playing resume, I'd get tons more gigs if I advertised my scouser skills!
7. Met up with John to do a trade - a very smooth transaction, great communications throughout. Would have total confidence in dealing with again, and can recommend to fellow Basschat'ers. Spent an age chatting all things from football to basses, which is always a good sign for how superb this community is
 8. Bass. Then triangle. Came back to bass when it became apparent the triangle circle was just too cliquey. Want five different answers? Ask three triange players! All they would talk about is, is this good for metal? For f***'s sake.
 9.
Good grief do I have to put f***ing similes all over a page to make people see I'm joking. You bunch of poker arses.
Not for me, baby. Wubbles.
 10.
It's disappointing that you put up a post like this, Daz. If you took the time to read through the whole thread you will see that a good many BC'ers took up the challenge for this gig, investing their talent, time and money. But, I guess you are trying to be funny. If you looked at NMA's web-site you will see that they auditioned 20 people from 80 applicants, and (I believe) 5 of those applicants were from the BC family. That's a 25% representation, and one which I think we should all be very proud. I had a quick look at your profile, and all of your own influences pre-date NMA by a long chalk... My bass influences are JJ burnell (Stranglers), Youth (Killing Joke), Steve Garvey and Steve Diggle(Buzzcocks), Charlie Casey(Menace) Geezer Butler(Black Sabbath) Peter Hook (Joy Division) and last but certainly not least a huge influence has been, and still is, the great Jah Wobble So, if the Stranglers or the PIL came knocking, would you shoo them away for a crack at 'Bring me the Horizon', what with you being so young and vital in your mid 40's? I'm not so sure whether Justin Sullivan was around in 1926, by my reckoning he is 55 years old, although when I shook his hand and knocked out a few tunes with him a couple of weeks ago, he had an energy and immediateness that would give many 20 year old's a run for their money, in spite of 3 decades in the business, with god knows how many album sales, a loyal fan-base and never losing artistic integrity. You never know Daz, with a band like New Model Army, maybe ther best is yet to come. After all there is some old codger called Bruce Springsteen who's latest album is tipped to do very well in the hit parade, so perhaps there is hope for us all.
I would shoo them all away. They would turn to me: but Gus, why? Why drive us away, when we have come to recognise your greatness. And I would say to them, this gathered multitude, young and old: "f*** off, I am waiting for Kyuss, and you ***** are running my phone line ragged. Now take your free evening minutes and fit them up your pop-rock arses". In Daz's defence, NMA are an acquired taste. But I loved your excitement for them; and I would ask that you love my excitement when Kyuss ring me to say Reeder is being a bellend, and they need a Scouser to hot wire their van
 11.

Think FAST?
 12. But, Lozz, it's whatever makes people happy
 13.
It's not a case of telling people how to behave. It's a case of having respect for your fellow musicians. People just seem to think they can behave as they want and ignore the effects it has on other people.
I agree. The OP should get blind drunk, out of respect for his band mates.
 14.
Ha, ha, yes. I nearly swallowed my pipe.
I can't believe we commission those expensive promo shots, and then you wear the tweed...
 15. f***'s sake, bass tucked under yer chin too playing pentatonic scales whilst whistling to the dog
 16.
He certainly looks the part. I just knew I shouldn't have had a shave and a haircut before the audition.
I told you the tweed jacket and patches was too f***ing far, Discreet
 17.
Precisely. Are we such an insecure bunch that we need others to tell us how to behave?
Yes
 18. Dog ate your homework, again, eh? Bizarre story.
 19.
We should ask Fender... how did they get Jaco to sign this, (the signature is on the back of the neck plate)
The answer is elementary, my dear Wazoo...
 20.
I think they look way to METAL! There's nothing remotely "the who" or JE about them.
There's plenty of Who? about them - that'll be the first words out of every member of the Dean target market, whilst they try and work out who John Entwistle was
 21.
You'll love it up there, its kind of a shed with lots of piles of wood and the odd v nice bass, lovely part of the world and they have a very cool dog too, the course is something I'd consider, the only thing that would stop me is my total lack of woodworking ability!
Ruby's a giant Rottweiler. You'll sh*t yourself when you first walk in
 22. I got some from this chap, following a recommendation by Nige: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/creative-cuts/
Fer me, it's random. Sometimes I'm thrown to the start, sometimes the end, and sometimes the middle of a thread. It's all very confusing.
Mine starts on the last page I viewed. In that, at least, it's consistent.
 24. I do it when I know people are watching.
