1.
not on fleabay, tha bastards have pulled the ad, apparently the american company says it infringes their IP. It's not like I'm trying to con anybody with a twohundred quid guitar is it. It's not a fake either. it's a genuine retrovibe RV4 in white
This happens a lot chief - the secret is a competitive price and very short listing, so you're done before someone wakes up to it.
 2. Outside bet, but MTD? I think they're a 35" though.
 3.
I really can't stress how great Spector basses are for this type of tone. They're like warwicks on steroids. And their customer service is amazing. (unlike warwick which is non existent)
Bingo. I don't think Rex made any great secret of his love for the Spectors, nor their contribution to his tone. Some great examples on here. Think I need to do some more feedling, I don't think mine quite compares!
 4. Always worth a look. What's the format, you have a mini-blog and try and win the reviews? Top-scoring band gets the gig?
 5. I spoke to Cetera the other week - he's well, but busy! He's not checking here regularly, in any case. No idea on BottomEndian. Does anyone know where Bassassin is? Hope they're all ok - and very sorry to hear of the Funk's personal issues. Hope he's ok.
 6. Is it cheating if we say Mani?
 7.
Wow! That is as sexy as Tulisa's sex tape!
It's got a little bit of the Dane Bowers about it
 8. Well, it's not selling and they're busy declining offers, so perhaps it's not worth that much?
 9.
I was going to say that I'd like to see you playing with Dik sometime.
10. I'm going to go with a more eclectic suggestion, from a member who isn't as regular a poster as some of the above - I'm going to go with Chest Rockwell and his band Thorun. Their last EP, Chorus of Giants, was very good on the old riff front - some great doom/stoner lines in there, and I bet they rattle the walls live
 11. Someone should be jumping on this, it's a fine little bass - and a real snip at the price, for either cash or trade.
 12.
a bar man? and the other 10% when you invited your friends down?
Boom Nice one mate, very pleased for you - I guess it was fate!
 13.
I've had it into my local guitar shop a few months ago and had pups upgraded, added a Bad Ass bridge, but it just doesn't sound like I would expect it to.
Quick question, lah - and I know you've mentioned more sustain already - but what were you hoping to have it sound like? Is there a particular player you had in mind, thinking I'll nail that sound when you got the bass? Could even be that a Precision isn't what you're after... on a sliding scale from making some minor EQ changes; to upgrading the bass; to selling it and moving on. Might be useful for people to know what you're hoping to do, so they can advise you accordingly.
 14. Try eBay lah, it'll show you what they go for.
 15.
I even sold something to somebody on terms (installments) - I realise that not everybody would have done this but the BCer concerned had good feedback and was respected on the site..
That's really good of you, chief, and I think I know the example - and I concur, he's definitely a respected member of the site. I'd like to think I'd do the same if someone asked, but suspect I might be a little tight! Karlfer's spot on, as well - this is a small pond. You're not going to hide anywhere - we've got so many great contributors here because people know it wouldn't take much to be a dickhead, and we respect the site enough to not want that and put the effort in to avoid it
 16.
disrespectful gender objectification.
Cock rock?
 17.
how's it go? I haven't had time to pick up my guitar since last week
Oh yes! "Yeah, I didn't get chance to practice" - closely followed by "Yeah, I've not finished the solo yet - just keep playing and we'll leave a gap for it..." Total f***wit. It's not even a solo, anyway, if you can only play it one time in ten - it's just musical alphabeti-spaghetti. Tosser.
 18.
Oh yes, some strange sights. I was on a bus going back to the station and the driver said he wasn't going to let me off the bus because "... I hate southerners". Ha ha... classic. I think he was from Huddersfield. Bless 'im.
Jaysus! Now there's a hole... just be thankful they're still a league down and it's not an away fixture I'm kinda with Daz - maybe we should just play all the AC tracks and be damned? If so, we have enough suggestions in this thread for a 10-minute set - how shall we fill the other 50?
 19. Ah, yes! I think his username was Jazz73, or something - good work you guys did with that. Just a real shame it came to it - but they're total exceptions, I'd say. I did a good trade at the weekend, arranging to meet a fellow BC'er at a suitable half-way point - nice day, out in the sun and having a chat about basses
 20.
And of course the bat inlay and graphic.
That makes it go quicker, right? Ambivalent about the Duncan-designed - they work fine, but am sure the impact you're hearing the in the demos is just a Precision doing what it does best. No tone control?
 21.
Someone will provide a link soon, but basically, someone paid money for a bassthat was advertised and they guy didn't send it on to him. In a nutshell, the dude got fleeced out of £x. So, he came on the forum and said "can anyone help?" and because we have an amazing community here, we were able to find out the guys address, his place of work and we ended up getting in contact with the guys mother and eventually we pressured him into sending the bass on. There's a few lawyers/solicitors/coppers on here too all offering excellent advice.
Was this the Warwick Vampyre example? Or didn't we have one more recently, with the German chap? They stand out, thankfully, because they're so rare!
 22. No, no, all credit to you, Dave - you had to tolerate my um'ing and ah'ing; and I'd certainly recommend you to the people of this forum.
 23. Yeah, as JT notes - it can be a leap of faith! I prefer to meet up for my trades, to meet the person and see the bass. That way you can ensure both parties are happy, before concluding the deal. Don't be afraid to ask for that option, or for collection from your home/work/safe place, if unsure. It's your bass, after all, you should only commit yourself to a deal you're comfortable with - and that includes all elements of the deal.
 24.
And re-sale isn't really that much of an issue really. Out of all my stuff, my guitars are the last things I'd sell, out of want or necessity.
Yeah, drop me a line if that Flying-V ever goes I may well be being ignorant, but I get a little lost with some of the signature versions of standard basses - does this being Pete Wentz's signature bass give you any substantial difference in features over a regular MIM Fender or Squier Precision? If not, I'd be tempted to hunt one of those down and recoup some of the costs
