1.
You have taken band merchandising to new levels.
Well, they don't fanny about, do they?
  2.
Sold lots of badges and some CDs. Gave away stickers and Dick Venom tampons...
I missed this the first time. Now allow me a little of the following: lolwut?
  3.
in the band I play guitar in we always talk about our different instruments and rigs and everyone notices a change and makes comments - mostly good ones.
I wish my guitarists would do more of that. One of them in particular could benefit heavily from a little more engaged with his gear.
  4.
I quit my current band... I bet they haven't bloody noticed yet.
Unless they start fiddling with their sound,I reckon you've got six months before they notice you're not in the mix
  5. We had a gig last... someone else's gig, I'll admit, but a full band outing. Caught Tracer in York, playing the Duchess. Great live band, lots of energy. Then we all got drunk, and our FB statuses this morning reflect a night of mayhem
  6. Well, you're crazy Tom - shout if you want to borrow the 44-02.
  7. Also, have you considered the Lakland 44-02? Light as, and might go someway to keeping you playing even with your neck.
  8. Tom you eejit, you don't mean this at all!
  9. My band have a clear preference for my Gibson, by a country mile.
  10. Almost as good as their "puke and jizz" Ramone P-bass special. Utilising their patented NOS (New Old sp**k) technique, no doubt. *****.
  11.
*swot alert* I have two excellent degrees, which have served me relatively well, but I still think I could have stopped at one, and instead started playing bass when I was still at school, and been even happier with my life!
I've got a Masters going spare, in that it's not used on a day-to-day basis. But, as part of the long learning process that is life, it has enabled me to afford many things - so, having sold my original basses to fund my BA, I am now a shabbier player... but own much nicer gear
  12.
I've wanted a Warlock for over 20 years! Last year I decided to go for it and get one for my birthday. I chose the NT: http://basschat.co.u...h-nt-warlock-5/ as my perfect Bass. A
They were doing an NT 4-string with the conventional harpoon headstock, which looked more appealing to me - I dislike the Widow headstock.
  13.
Sensible, but when I was the OP's age *rambles on about the war* I never listened to any advice whatsoever, and I doubt the OP will, either! Hooray!
I thought I'd best try; much like the guys who talked to us thought they'd best try. It's part of the ritual. In the end a strict prescription of bleeding poverty will cure his GAS.
  14. I was expecting this to be about a drummer at the wrong gig
  15. Just a note that employers don't really understand GAS as a mechanism for why you f***ed up your academic life. We smile, we nod, we think "f***wit", and then pass you out of the building with platitudes and never ring again. So, how about this - nail your degree; and get yourself something nice, then, as a present for achieving it?
  16.
I could tell you some QC tales about this one.
Perhaps. But as people will spend 3-5 times as much on a US Fender with the same QC issues, you need to take each instrument as you find it
  17.
If looks are key then both will do the job in a metal band but if you are looking at the sub £300 revenge and bronze series instruments I beg that you reconsider!
The bronze instruments are pretty gash; they're priced appropriately, however, and if you're just starting... There's a Paolo sig Warlock 4-string on Ebay for £285 at the moment - might be worth a look? Always liked the white with the reverse headstock. Unsure on the new Masterpiece range. Not tried one, couldn't comment. I'd recommend also joining BCRichplayers.com, if it has to be BC Rich - you'll get a lot of "well, try Warwick or Spector or..." style replies here, as many players here simply won't have tried the instruments you're wanting to compare. I'll agree with Throwoff that the older, US instruments are the best of the bunch - but you'll need deeper pockets. Let me known what you end up with

    Sean's Feedback

Sold Sean a pick-up. Great comms throughout, very prompt payment - he's a smashing chap, with great taste in basses. Deal with in confidence
  19.
they are lovely, I'd get a candy apple red with maple fretboard any day of the week.
Very nice... yum.
  20. My opinion is that I want one; and I'm also of the opinion that I have a good taste in basses. Make of that what you will. Is there overly much to choose? Am unsure. The body and styling, but nothing major I wouldn't imagine.
  21.
cut your hands off and replace them with victor wootens?
Your use of grammar has allowed me to envisage the OP with the body and soul of Victor Wooten as a pair of replacement appendages. Why just have his hands, when you could have the man... on each hand? You'd get some quite amazing wrist dive, however, having a top quality bass player as a hand replacement; though leaving you with some excellent tonal options Better than my dildo hands suggestion. Though that would still work for drummers. And probably improve their table manners.
  22. Nice chief - good bit of exposure that! I have't had Radio 1 on in years, except by accident. They don't play what I like, and I come away wanting to take Nicki Minaj's songwriters to one side for a word. I have Radio 5 on, no music but plenty of debate; and, when that grates, my house and car are normally chockful of blues or rock to pass the time.
  23.
Nobody for this "weapon of bass destruction" ?
Probably quite a lot of us, but I refer you to Wayne's post - just a bad time for a lot of people, chief.
  24.
The problem is your guitarist, not his gear.
Yup. Just build a giant wicker guitar and burn him in Norwich city centre, as a previous poster suggested.
