I'm out. Want to play live with a tea chest bass? Form your own shanty band.

Haha, f***ing brilliant.
. . . or about £14k per year, which is about the same as a decent non-boarding independent school. Funny, isn't it, how sending kids to independent schools seems to somehow make them privileged and lah-di-dah rich kids, but being dumped off at the local nursery each morning is generally quite acceptable. I'm not judging either way, just amused by the inconsistency.
Good call, lah.
Pics, or it never happened.
Seconded. And methinks either Sean is psychic, or maybe has the EBay app

Lovely chief, am very envious
Is it not illegal to leave kids of that age on their own in a van somewhere strange! Serious parenting issues there! I'd have a word...though that's a hard thing to do.
I think you have put a window down and leave them a bowl of water, or something...
I know. On the other hand, he's got the biggest cock I've ever seen. Turned round in the Gents at work one day, waggled it and said "Look at this!" It practically blocked out the sun.
Well, this sounds like a no; or, a yes, but... Best get the Mono ordered

For what it's worth, my initial reaction was that's not good enough - there are issues all over the place in this scenario. A quick guess as to who you might be playing for, and a look at his tour dates, suggests that a number of these gigs will fall on school nights - or days, allowing for travel, etc. I think, as the guys above note, you need to work out if you're band or there as hired help - if it's a band, you've got a say so have it; if you're not a band, it's his call - but it remains yours if you want to work with that call.
In fairness to the complainant and his spouse, it is possible that the acoustics in this place of worship might have combined with certain notes to produce specific, distressing effects.
Nonsense, Skank. We're bass players. We must be right. Always. You don't want to crack my thin veneer of confidence do you?

Ok, as in... Fender Deluxe, ok? Ritter, ok? I'm not expecting it to beat the likes of iGig and Mono. I quite like the Mono 80, but am unsure if it's 3 times the protection to warrant the 3 times the price.
Him not getting laid is not your problem.
This. /thread. I wouldn't worry on the basis of some partisan feedback from a single audience member with a past history of minor gripes and complaints. We all know the type. I seem to invariably encounter them in restaurants, when they believe that paying £15 for a main makes them a sophisticated diner, and hoping that a timely complaint will shave the bill down some and impress Sheila, who is looking lovely since she came off the Prozac. Such a type caused my only public deployment of the c-bomb, in defence of one of York's finer eateries and his continual invasion of my conversation with his incessant whining. Church might be the wrong place to deploy your own c-bomb (unless it's the Church of Satan, where people should stand to the consequences of their actions, so feel free to garnish your feedback appropriately), but you should understand it's not a credible piece of feedback on your playing - it sounds like it's driven from somewhere else; from his own insecurities; his own upbringing; that affair Sheila had in 1972; his small penis - could be anything!

Chaps, after asking your advice on this topic previously, I never bottomed out my quest for a new gig bag - mainly as, no sooner had I asked, than I picked up a new semi-rigid (ooh er matron) case in a trade, which has sufficed valiantly to-date. Being the kind of person who suffers from the suspicion that things are working out a little too perfectly - I'm looking to pick up a double gig bag, to allow me a spare for those hot-swap occasions where five mins to change a broken string is five mins too long. Was considering the following - given the prices of the Mono and iGig offers, being a bit steep for my pockets: http://www.soundunlimited.co.uk/product_3142_Madarozzo_Double_Electric_Bass_Guitar_Gig_Bag_MA-G0050-DEB/BK.html I've not found any poor reviews. I would have preferred some more insight into the specific bag, but I gather this is a 2009 case and the Madarozzo range has been refreshed. Anyone have any strong opinions or experience? Price looks keen, but am I missing something?
Sweet Jesus, Eddie. I'm hugely impressed. That's some mighty multi-instrumentation, matey. Never realised you were so talented.
Ditto. Though, unlike Skank, I am firmly of the mind that closets should contain Tom Cruise; whilst wardrobes may be permitted of any combition of magical realms of small oriental men well versed in the martial arts.

Afternoon all - please find for sale, one Electro Harmonix Ocatve Multiplexer! As noted previously, this does exactly what it says on the tin - from the EHX site, "Get down! Generates deep, phat bass tones one octave below the notes you play. Two separate smoothing filters enable you to tailor your sub-octave signal to the exact bass sound you desire, separating the Octave Multiplexer from other octave devices. Run your vocals through it and sound just like Ike Turner. This is a monophonic device and works only on single notes." Plenty of videos of this in action online: Looking for £30 + shipping. Comes boxed.
