Cheers lah. There was obviously a lot of good footwear at that gig, judging from the camera angle You'll have to come along and take a better one Ps: £6. Change out of tenner for a Red Stripe!

Do you consider yourself an "expert" bass player?
I generally content myself with swaying slightly...
That back still playing up? -
Hmm... Wayne guessed it was a bass... but that wasn't on the list above... hmm...
I got very pissed at a RHCP gig years ago, babbled drunkenly on and on at the band after the gig and tried to join the tour by attempting to get on their bus *deep shame* Under the circumstances they were very nice about it... Flea was a top geezer as I remember (insamuch as I can remember anything).
Legend. Did you point out his mistakes for completeness/bass-playing-kudos?

Sorry to hear that, lah

Those pick-ups will have some kick - good find

I'm saving up for a Tracy Emin one. It has a tampon for a truss rod. So now.

Does what it says on the tin - we're opening up for the mighty Viking Skull when they hit York on their new album tour. We'll be bringing our tuneful rock and roll; opening up for RFG, the Mercy House and the Skull, as we all tear the joint down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty2p4IlzONY&feature=related Also, if you take a good gig video on the mobile, we need you - some of our fan efforts have been lacking to-date http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sJUPA9f34Q Tickets are £6 from me; £10 on the door. Shout if people fancy it

Dunlops - either the .88s or the .75s. I like a fair bit of flex. I appreciate the harder attack of the more substantial picks, but playing at the speed we do and with my f***ed hand, it's a trade off.

Well, isn't that the definition of expert? To have some skill in all fields would, to my mind, make you a generalist. -
Bought Shep's Mastotron, all smoothly done - great comms throughout and provided me with some good advice on fitting the pedal into my sound. Thanks

I'm an expert bass player. It just so happens that my expertise does not lie with playing the bass. -
It's moments like these that my Scouse accent was made for: calm down, calm down. Now chin up, people. This is Basschat
JUST THIS I really don`t get the "I play bass and I have an amp so you lot can buy your own f***ing P.A" sh*t. The P.A is for ALL of you. What next? " Well I only sing backing vocals on a 1/3 of the set so I only have to pay £2 a gigh towards the P.A" f*** me, are you a business or not? What exactly is the point of turning up with your barefaced f***off cab and your 1200watt TC head when the punters can`t even hear the vocals? Short sighted selfishness. Rant over
Haha, I'm in the middle here. I'd be happy to pay if it helped my band move on, with the right caveats around size of contribution and ownership. So, the above works for me - albeit not with those words. I'm having a rare polite moment, you ***** But... I'd not be inclined to contribute to someone else's business. The duo want to use it? Easily accommodated - rent it back from the main band. It's the most equitable solution, from the position of ownership. I'm sure your guitarist will adore it

Price match promise - which is a good idea, I think. Though it becomes a bad idea when you price match a small sports hatchback, as in this case. Car or guitar? You decide, punters.
I've found this with a few drummers and other musicians too. I always tell them to their face and its up to them how they take it. It says a lot about a musician (and a person for that matter) who can't take constructive criticism. I personally love people telling me if I'm making a dog's arse of something as I always look to improve my playing and will take on board what they're saying. If a musician wants to spit the dummy out when someone offers constructive criticism then I don't think they're ever going to take what you say on board.
Always help to set some ground rules, at the start. We give each other some right abuse, as a result Hope the collaborative approach works. If not, aim for the bridge of the nose. Tears at bedtime, etc.

does anyone regret selling their first bass
The next bass was so awful I sold it after 2 gigs. It was a Gibson EB0 and sounded like a goose farting in a fog.
Ah, that classic Gibson sound -
I spent time on Pornhub......I quite liked it. A few more cocks than on here, but only just
Same old tits and fannies, though? I mean, just looking at our members list... Hmm... I'm reminded of a scene from Team America...

Ordered the Mono, having berated myself for being a stingy old bugger. I'll post a review when it arrives. It does look a superb product. Went for the M80 in Black.

Sold Alex a pedal - payment was prompt and great comms throughout. I'm sure Trucky is known to all users here - and whether you're just chatting or cutting a deal, you can be sure of Alex. Recommended

You have an honest face, Alex

I'm with Skank (albeit on a platonic basis), if this is very much uncharacteristic behaviour, you might get to wondering what else could be driving it. Aside from personal issues, it would be inexcusable to find that the issue we stemming from simple capability issues, or lack of practice. I've only hit it the once, and I was very robust with it. I don't throw my toys out of the pram, and I'm sufficiently full of ******hness to be direct and address people on the level where platitudes fail. It has not been repeated. You might wish for a more moderate approach. Perhaps a more collaborative approach - after all, you both make up the rhythm section. It's a shared problem, in that respect. Not a "you were off today", but more a "we didn't seem to hit it today - what's up and how do we sort it?"
