  1. Spot on Dan. Outlines the difference between a band that plays weddings and a wedding band.
  2. Same as answered above. Half the power would drive the speaker, half would drive the speaker without a cone. Remove the speaker cone and it is just a voice coil or resistor.
  3. When faced with this "arrangement" Les, I normally contact the venue and ask to speak to the wedding co-ordinator, or whoever is sorting things out. They should be able to give you a timetable of events and when you can set-up. They will no doubt be changing the room around between the meal and evening reception so that will be your opportunity. Normally the wedding party will be ushered into another bar/room somewhere whilst they do this. When you get the timetable expect the set-up to time to slide as weddings never run to time.
  4. Looks like it is. The connector block and pins come separately and there are a number of different designs. This one doesn't have the captive bar that yours has but I'm sure some further examination on t'Interweb unearth the correct ones. Is it fubar'd or can you reused the connector block and just buy the pins if it's a wiring issue? https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/products/6795375/?grossPrice=Y&cm_mmc=UK-PLA-DS3A-_-google-_-PLA_UK_EN_Connectors-_-Pcb_Connectors|Pcb_Connector_Housings-_-PRODUCT+GROUP&matchtype=&gclid=CjwKCAiAqbvTBRAPEiwANEkyCA4ofgwEXWPRuKh1XVNnPwjIluT9IWboJDDBio87iq8tsZmtVzBJRhoCWG4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  5. This is one for Jon himself I reckon. I would suspect the 2 batteries are for the pre-amp, (18v, increased headroom), as I am not sure Delano make active pick-ups. Most Active/Passive option switches, (either a physical switch or Pull/Push pot), bypass the pre-amp either straight to the Volume control or sometimes the Blend but without knowing how the pre-amp is designed it would be difficult to offer a suggestion as to how to wire a passive option. I would guess that Jon has the pre-amps made for him, but don't know who, possibly John East? If it's a Bartolini XCTC, I have the wiring diagram with the Active/Passive option as an option.
  6. The LB 212 is indeed a rare beast. Depending on which bit of t'Internet you believe only 20 or 40 were made, so essentially a prototype. It's rated at 300w and 4 Ohms Impedence, exactly the same as your head, so although it is voiced for the LB range of amps, it's fine with your Evo. At the end of the day, let your ears judge.
  7. AxesrUs have them. https://www.axesrus.co.uk/Electronics-Pots-s/1951.htm
  8. + AxesrUs. For the actual pots don't forget the likes of CPC or RS Components. It doesn't have to be a music type retailer as at the end of the day they are electronic components.
  9. I sent you a Sticky Adam. Did you get it?
  10. The phone number is a Mobile?
  11. How old is it? If under warranty, just return it for a repair.
  12. Not strictly new. They have/used to have a 3x10 Combo, (CMD 103p I think), so this is a newer version with the Marcus Miller Amp instead of an Little Mark.
  13. I've got 3 Bass Collections and they all have different pre-amps.
  14. To be honest I am not sure. Alpha do them so I would be surprised if CTS didn't. Just a case of hunting them down on t'Interweb. RS Components might be a good start. BTW it's a 1Meg reverse audio taper npt 10M
  15. CTS Pots will be way less than £10 a pop.
  16. If it's a MOSFET Amp then it should be fixable. Check this post which is similar for a Trace Elliot Amp . Surrey Amps are Ampeg specialist so could give you an idea of cost but any competent amp tech should be able to sort it.
  17. Depends on which amp it is. Some are fixable some aren't.
  18. Awesome and i would definitely be interested in getting access to all the charts. A bit like The Real Book brought up to date.
  19. Wow, that is an awesome find. I can delete a shed load of individual wiring diagrams and just use this. Thanks for sharing T-Bay
  20. Correct, remove them from the existing pots/pre-amp whatever. Leave a descent length of wire from the pickups. Already suggested and if you are not confident of what you are doing, get John to do it for you. Make sure you specify mini-pots though if you don't have the room for standard ones.
  21. Here's a wiring diagram for a Jazz Bass which is what you need. You might be better off junking everything and starting afresh with 3 new pots, capacitor and jack or contact Ki0gon of this parish who will knock you a solder free loom for you. Fender_Jazz_Wiring_Diagram.pdf
  22. I've already snagged it.
  23. The way to tell the year it was made is by the serial number. The first 2 digits indicate the year, so 891234, would be 1989. if the serial number has rubbed off the cavity cover there is another in the cavity usually stuck on the pre-amp. Unbelievable how little these basse sell for. A quality Japanese instrument with Gotoh hardware, fabulous neck and as light as a feather for Squier money. These basses sold for in excess of £500 in the day and that was the cheapest passive 4 string. GLWTS as someone is going to get a hell of an instrument. If I didn;t already have 3 x 5 strings, I'd be there.
  24. CTS is a brand and that kit is everything you need to re-wire a Jazz with quality components. Looks like they even give you a wiring diagram. Or you could always contact Ki0gon of this very parish as this is exactly what he does but as a "no solder" kit. Everything pre-wired, just insert pickup wires i the screw terminals.
