  1. I've 2 basses with flat fingerboards and prefer them to radiused ones.
  2. I've used an old cut down Credit/Debit card in the past and it worked perfectly.
  3. Try Surrey Amps. They provide out of warranty service for Peavey products including Trace Elliot. http://www.surreyamps.co.uk/news/peavey-service-centre-uk Barnes and Mullins handle spares for Peavey products so they might be worth a try as well. https://www.bandm.co.uk/
  4. This discussion should help. A simple solution that should easily fit in your car. Again assuming the PA is suitable for putting bass FOH.
  5. There's a Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 5 head F/S for £145 on a Facebook selling site. https://www.facebook.com/groups/UKBassgear/
  6. The neck will no doubt have moved due to slackening the strings and probably temperature changes. After tuning it could take at least overnight to settle back down. If it's come from Spain there is a hell of difference in humidity and it may take a while to sort itself out. Pal of mine had a similar problem with his Stingray. Hadn't been played for nearly a year and stored in a cold room. A quick tune up and leaving in a warmer room and 2 days later it was fine.
  7. Gotcha. Easy job to remove tone pot though. Should be just unsoldering 1 wire.
  8. It might be worth removing the the tone pot from the circuit completely first to see if it gives the required result as you are comparing 2 different instruments. The P pickup in yours might not be the same as the one in a Mark Hoppus. Edit: Just noticed you have a Seymour Duncan 1/4 Pounder in the P Bass, whereas I am assuming it was the stock pickup in the MH?
  9. I've got 3 of these, all 5 stringers, and the heaviest is 7Lb 10 Oz, so I doubt this is anywhere near 10Lb. Stupidly light and I cannot believe this is still here. Fantastic VFM, awesome build quality and Gotoh Hardware. These cost a lot of money back in the day.
  10. Power supply is included. Got one for my son. Should be a real help for his songwriting.
  11. Exactly the same. It is a generic made PRC item sold under different trade names.
  12. The Mark Bass one won't be suitable unless you have carpet covering as it attaches itself to the cab with velcro. If yours is carpet covered it's great. This would do the job. https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/311896273264?chn=ps&dispctrl=1&adgroupid=46781198765&rlsatarget=pla-378868098227&abcId=1129946&adtype=pla&merchantid=110857138&poi=&googleloc=9072511&device=c&campaignid=974199509&crdt=0 Don't get one of these. http://www.standback.net/ Great idea but bass cabs are too deep for it to work as I know to my cost.
  13. Have fun. Secret is to be patient and take your time. You can always take more off you can't put it back.
  14. When I reshaped the headstock on a Harley Benton P Bass, I used a set of "cup" measures to draw round and used an orbital sander to reshape it. If I did it again, I'd use a Dremel or similar craft tool. That said, there wasn't much wood to remove. If you have a lot to get rid of a fretsaw or jigsaw to get a rough shape and then finish with a sander.
  15. Wembley Loudspeakers are your friend. They can test it and do any repairs needed. http://www.wembleyloudspeaker.com/
  16. Steve, funnily enough I have the same problem with a Maple/Maple neck but i had Luminlay fred dots fitted. What I did do, however as a stop gap is get some black Fablon, (other makes are available i'm sure) , or some adhesive backed vinyl and used a hole punch to punch out perfectly round markers. Stick these over the originals and job done without any damage to the bass. They can be peeled off if you ever decide to move the bass on without having to try and remove permanent marker.
  17. Sandberg have used Noll, Delano and Glock pre-amps but having had a Sandberg I reckon the "zing" comes from the Delano pickups. I certainly don't get that with my bass.
  18. It lets the natural sound of the bass get through when flat but start dialling in some Bass/Mid/Treble and It just seems to make the bass more authoritative. Fuller, rounder sound but very clear.
  19. Liking the design with a useful kick back option but a bit puzzled as to why they have fitted a "top hat" unless it is a multi purpose cabinet and used for PA as well.
  20. I've got one in a bass and absolutely love it. I don't find it particularly bright and I love the fact that with everything in the flat position there is no difference in output from active to passive so not colouring the sound at all. As to if it is the best thing since sliced bread, can't comment. We are all different and what works for me, might not for someone else but I would not hesitate to put one in another bass.
  21. I'd keep looking as well. Last one I got from them was about £8 posted.
  22. Rothko and Frost will do any decal your heart desires. Great quality as well. Used to be called Dec-Art Decals. http://www.rothkoandfrost.com/
  23. The difficulty with a "what would you buy" post is that inevitably you will get responses from owners of either bass saying "get this". Firstly can you counter the counter offer to give you a bit more time? As someone who owns neither bass I would do a For/Against list for each and see if that tips the scales and then buy the 62 RI MIJ.
  24. Nanyo factory built Bass Collections. I've go 3 5 strings and they weigh about 7.5lbs each. I won't have a bass over 8.5lbs due to a double compression fracture of the spine. Bass Collection, sorted, and one of the nicest necks you will ever play.
