As chris_b says, probably not, but some manufacturers have International warranties, so maybe a check on Mesa's website, or an email. I would imagine musicians working on cruise ships encounter this sort of thing all the time.
Which the OP is actually the seller 😉
i have been exploring this option. Not really interested in it as a Combo but would make a great head. Unfortunately it looks like it is a good bit wider than a standard 2U rack case.
The Handbox would have been my suggestion but I've only ever seen 1 F/S but that went for £300-350 I think. That would fit your criteria If one ever came up F/S
I had one of those and one of the giveaways was the screw pattern on the control backplate. It's different to the MIJ ones. The one we are talking about does not have MIJ stamped on it but looks like it is one. SGC Nanyo is an absolute minefield to negotiate.
The Korean ones didn't have Gotoh stamped hardware on them, (they used licenced hardware without any name on) and this has Gotoh throughout. It is one of the early pre-amps as well. Same as on my 1988 model and the Korean ones came late 90s/Early 2000's ? looks like Roger has confirmed it is a genuine MIJ one.
If you get in touch with Phillip Porter, http://www.philipporterguitars.co.uk/, he will give you an idea of price. His work is fantastic and really reasonable. He's only in Salford near the start of M602.
Really it is not much more work than a re-fret as the fret lines are there.
Other alternative is Steve Robinson, Manchester Guitar Tech https://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/repairs/
I don't think it is that difficult a job for a decent amp tech. Is your "Go To" guy Dave Lunt by any chance? Although he is strictly a Valve man I know he has worked on S/S amps, and your does have valves in it. 🙂
Roland Lumby and Gee Electronics seem to get a lot of mentions when people ask about amp repairs in NW/Manchester area.
It could just be an age thing. I have had fuses blow on me for no apparent reason, (other than they had been there for ages). Put new fuse in and Robert's a relative.
If the replacement blows, then you do have an issue. Do you know what each fuse does?
And G&L use the same methodology on the L series. At the end of the day in a passive bass you don't have a "tone" control as such. It is a Treble Cut, (or Bass cut in the EBMM/G&L scenario). So having 2 "tone" pots with different capacitors would just give you a different cut when fully on. When fully off the result is the same in either case.
Why not just try it as it is first. You may be surprised.
If that doesn't work out you'll need to get someone to model the cab with Winsd, or similar, so you know which drivers will work best.
My Son has lived there for over 20 years. If you PM an email address I've an email I can send you with lots of recommendations and places to avoid.
We prefer the Xmas Market at Andel. Appeals to the locals and not as touristy. The Blue Light is a must for a late drink. If you have a look on YouTube for a band called Monkey Business and a song called "Blue Light Baggy Bingo" and it will give you an idea of what it's like.
The farmers markets down by the river are great. Held on Saturdays, but pretty sporadic.
