  1. He's removed the video.
  2. This posting from @Alec probably explains all.
  3. But have we moved on in any way?
  4. Should work like you suggested. Not sure how the selector switch for the pickups might affect things. Thinking cap time.
  5. I would think you would need to remove the wire from each volume to the selector switch. Just wire from each volume to the stereo jack and that should be that.
  6. I thought the Serek had a familiar look about it.😁. uncannily like an Epiphone Crestwood I had in the late 60's.
  7. Sorry, yes I do mean a tribute. When I bought an L2500 I compared US against Trubute and couldn't find a lot of difference and couldn't justify the extra spend so a Tribute would do me just fine. 🙂
  8. I would love to try a Kiloton 5 and I contacted G&L to ask if they were going to produce one but apparently no plans at the moment. They did say "never say never" though.
  9. That is probably the best way forward, however sourcing a used amp sleeve may be not be that easy as most would be standard width, (19"), and then 1U, 2U etc. etc in height. I've got a new 2U one but your head is too wide. The cabinet is a different situation as either modelling the driver, or a quick call to Ashdown, and you'll know what size cabinet it will work in. If the cabinet surrounding the amp head is still intact, you could just cut that off as a start.
  10. So it's wider than the standard 19" rackmount size? That's a bummer.
  11. Wonder if this would do the job? I guess you would have to model your speaker, (or speak to Ashdown), to see how it would perform. That's assuming the amp head would fit.
  12. Could you split the combo? As in get an amp sleeve for the amp chassis and then make the speaker section into a 1x15 speaker cab? I guess it would depend on where the damage is and how easy it would be to repair. I have seen plenty of combos that have had the amp section chopped off.
  13. Looks like you can Steve. Whilst checking out the model on t'interweb it appears that someone on TalkBass has removed the pre-amp and wired direct to the jack and the pickups are really hot. I lost the will to live looking for the post but it appears the pickups are normal Jazz type. Only problem is the Standard only has 2 holes for the controls and you want 3. Are you proposing a stacked Vol/Tone and the blend separate?
  14. It's not vocals only though is it. You say you are a solo singer with backing tracks so you need to consider how the BT's sound as well and you have been given some good advice on this thread and might find that the best compromise in your situation is exactly what you have ordered and if not you can return them.
  15. I'd be inclined to get back on to Rocktron and mention they were going to send one, but didn't and ask them if it is Log or Linear and where to get one from as you need it fixing. Chances are they might send you one this time.
  16. Yes, they are XLR/Jack combination sockets. Assuming the leads have decent cable you should be ok as they at least have decent plugs.
  17. That mixer has only got 1/4'' TRS Jack, Unbalanced Out's, (Main Out L/R), so you may as well just go Jack-Jack.
  18. From the Help section: "Your purchases at Thomann are backed up by our 3-year warranty, i.e. we extend the manufacturer's warranty period (usually 12 months) to a full 36 months - at our own cost, there's no extra charge for you!" Assuming your mixer has XLR outs, I would just use XLR-XLR cables every day. Much better than jacks.
  19. I've never bought any of Thomann own brand products but have bought from them and haven't had a problem with them sorting a problem out. As far as warranty, it's in the product description that it's covered for 3 years.
  20. DD is correct, you get what you pay for. They are Thomman's House Brand for PA Gear, (speakers and power amps), just as As Harley Benton are their guitar brand, The Snake their Cable brand etc. etc. Regarding warranty, they should have 3 years the same as most products supplied by Thomman and in my experience with them, they are great at handling warranty claims. Anything i have had an issue with they have paid the return postage.
  21. +1 for Entwistle PBXN. Punches well above it's cost in my opinion.
  22. My son has just called EasyJet to enquire about taking one of his guitars he has at mine back to his place in Prague. According to EJ a guitar is classed as Sports Equipment and he can take it to the gate and hand it over there, (a bit like a baby buggy and avoiding it getting damaged on the various airport conveyors). He then collects it as he leaves the plane at Prague airport. It appears there are different views depending on who you are dealing with.
  23. +1 for a rewind. Aaron Armstrong of Kent Armstrong fame us great at rewinds and would be able to do them to the same spec as they are now.
  24. Think you are right @lemmywinks I've had a few conversations with Mike about the Chasers and now you mention it, rings a bell. It was around the time he had a retail outlet selling bass gear.
