There's a post called " Obscure Musical Backwaters" in the Bass Guitars section. It's all about SGC Nanyos. I'd ask there. Either way as an owner of 3 Bass Collections, that looks a nice one at a bargain price.

Hall and Oates then Tower of Power and then Chic. Are you going to Haydock Park as well Andy?

It's am active bass isn't it? If so battery could need replacing.

Another TC one to add to your list? There is some mention of the BAM200 here as well.

Active pickups passive, or passive pickups active????
BassBunny replied to Lexii's topic in Repairs and Technical
I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong but I don't think you can have Active pickups in a Passive mode. I had some active EMG's on a Jazz bass and they have an amplifier built into the pickups which needs a 9v supply to make them function. If you remove the 9v they don't work. My understanding is that this is how active pickups are built and function. Passive pickups on the other hand are just that and rely on an onboard pre-amp to make the bass active. If it's a PJ you are building, an East P-Retro will do exactly what you are after. Active tone controls in the normal mode and when switched to passive mode it functions exactly like a set of passive controls. The P Retro is a single pickup beast as normal but i am pretty sure John makes twin pickup versions for Alan Crngean of ACG as his stuff is modular. -
Although Wizard is no more these guys picked up where Andy left off so should be able to help. https://www.hot-rodpickups.com/

I got a sample of the blue from here and it looks pretty similar to the colour you are after. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WOOD-DYE-Morrells-Water-Based-Wood-stain-non-toxic-choice-of-colour-100ml/323315016711?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=512379629602&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

Dual concentric tone pot with capacitor selector

Yep, that's another option. -
My thought exactly.

Dual concentric tone pot with capacitor selector

1, shouldn't be an issue. You can use the same control knob. Just ensure the grub screw is lined up with the split in the shaft. 2, yep, that could be a problem. -

AxesrUs do 2 versions that would fit the bill. https://www.axesrus.co.uk/Medium-Shaft-PushPush-Alpha-Pots-p/medpushpushalpha.htm https://www.axesrus.co.uk/Medium-Shaft-PushPull-Alpha-Pots-p/medpushpullalpha.htm -

You can certainly get a pot with a push/pull switch. -
I guess you will need to contact Sire. I believe the pre-amp is their design, so they should know where you would need to send it to for repair.

I'd be on the phone to Mr ACG, Alan Cringean. No contest.

Having got/had both a Uni-Pre and a U Retro I think you would struggle to get it all in the control cavity and that is without even thinking about the battery. I have a feeling that all John's pre-amps are modular and I think he has been able to produce a 2 pick-up P-Retro which is exactly what you would need. I am sure I have seen one in the spec for an ACG but could be talking absolute boll*%$s. A call to John could be the answer.

If you speak to Wembley Loudspeakers, they can re-attach it. The exact same thing happened to a friend of mine and he sent it off to Wembley Loudspeakers and they sorted it out.
-
As already mentioned, yes they can just "go". As to if it can be fixed it depends on the pre-amp. Some are encapsulated in plastic so you can't get at the components. It could be a pot problem, which is usually a pretty easy swap out, if you know the values or a jack problem. again usually a fairly easy swap. What bass is it as a matter of interest?

Our singer uses one for his Solo/Duo gigs, (it might actually be an evox 8), and it is astounding. We actually did a function in a large venue and put the band through it, (4 x Vox, Keys, Kick, Overhead), and it was fantastic. We use an LD Maui system normally but the RCF blows the pants off that. If you were considering 2 of them it would be absolutely stellar.

Beat me to it. Amazing Hammond player dubbed the "Jimi Hendrix" of the Hammond. Been a massive Hammond fan since the 60's. I remember queuing up at the local record shop in 63 behind hundreds of people buying Please Please Me. I got to the front of the queue and was automatically handed a copy of the Beatles number 1 only for me to say, "Have you got Green Onions by Booker T and the MG's". That was the record that got me into the Hammond/Leslie combination.

Glad you got to the bottom of it as the original pot may not have been a 250k. Although pretty standard in passive instruments I have seen 50k, 150k .... in pre-amps. It depends on the design
