I had the pleasure last week of checking all of Tony's basses out. They are all stunning and i've offered to look after them for him when he goes on holiday .

I think any bass with the right setup and technique is good enough to slap on. *Most* players choose 4 strings to slap on.

An unnamed shop near me are trying to sell a Musicman Stingray copy (with headstock decal etc) for £400. They are aware it is fake as well...

Consider a Yamaha BB415/615.

It's the standard looking bridge that makes me think it was a bit thrown together. Admittedly i've never even seen one to pass comment fairly..

Fancy checking them out but I don't think i'd ever buy one..

Looks quite good actually - certainly better than the Dean Pace which to me is just a normal bass with the body cut off.

I used my RBX at practise before filling it in - it felt a bit ropey until the filler was in.
