1. Definitely worth the money, it'll easily outclass the Squier/Westfield and is definitely good enough to play for years. The only possible con I can think of is it's resale value - Yamahas really don't hold their value very well, then again they are cheap to begin with ! I had a BB614 and only sold it to fund the acquisition of my Stingray.

3. It tastes like Bass beer of course ! http://www.bass.com/
4. Offering to post will definitely help you here... people might not be willing to travel far for a (relatively) cheap instrument. Postage should be about £20 putting your price to £170, still a good saving on a new one.
5. Let us know how it goes - i'm definitely considering one myself.
6. Thomann are very reliable and have great customer service, there shouldn't be a problem ordering from them .
7. Wow that's a stunner - worth every penny. 87 was it's first year as a 5 according to several sites.
8. I'd say it's a good choice - I loved the SR505 I tried. Here you go. http://www.thomann.de/gb/ibanez_sr506l_bm.htm
9. Ah yes - I remember you being after one again Lorne when the new BC Rich appeared..

I posted £10 to Mart for a Stingray pickguard, this was during the post strikes and it never arrived. I said to put it back up for sale as I didn't fancy paying £20 in total for it - he sent it to me anyway ! What a super chap !
11. I started on guitar when I was 18, got a bass about 4 months later.
12. I have 2Gb of RAM in my home PC, never use more than 50% of it, work PC has 1Gb and same applies.. I can't see you having any need for 4Gb, let alone more than that.
13. They list at about £600-£650 online, so £400-£450 sounds very reasonable to me.
14. Fender Marcus Miller Jazz or Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor..
15.
let's not forget the fact that he made them 1 semitone short of a 4 octave range.
Yeah that really bugs me with my Jazz - at least he redeemed himself with the Stingray . Personally single cuts don't feel comfortable to me. I have played 2 Shukers (the doodle included), and though very nice, aren't for me.
16. Would you split them ? It might induce interest in some people with individual prices.
17. I do - but haven't got anything you want (mainly being the paper stuff that pays for things).
18. That's a great price.. someone better take this..
19. The NS series are US made, hence the Czech ones having Euro in their name (except the ReBop of course). http://www.spectorbass.com/NewFiles/usneck.html
20. Yeah my '96 is a bit grubby - looks even worse when you take the strings off. The dirt does seem engrained into the wood, thus I feel the very light steel wool might be the only option.
21. The Stingray 2EQ I find well suited - it doesn't distort the natural sound of the bass only accentuate it. I've played a few Ibanez and been impressed, especially the SR505. The EQ on that was terribly powerful..
22. Oooh very nice Gwilym, what's the top ?
