1. Of those 3 i'd go for the Schecter.
2. It's something he's working on - that being an all tube head. That's about it really... sorry !
3. Does it have the old or new style grille ?
4. Hooves of satan for the win !
5. Got back a little earlier, had a very good nose about. BassDirect's stand was most impressive, the Skjold was a wonder as well as the Nordstrand Jazz. The Bergantino cabs are seriously good too, worth considering and not badly priced at all. Many thanks to Mark (poptart) for inviting me along. Saw ped and Toasted there too.. I oddly was impressed with the Vintage V1004DX at the JHS stand. A lovely and thick (about 15mm) spalted maple top, with MM/J pickup and active EQ. A steal at £229 I must say: The ErnieBall (stringsandthings.co.uk) stand was also mightily impressive, got a chance to try out an OLP MM32. This was of suprising quality and really did sound pretty damned good. See below for it sat between some of it's US cousins. It's a bass i'd consider to sit along side my Stingray without a doubt. The Ashdown stand was hideously disappointing, a little stand with a few boxes strewn about and a couple of cabs/heads being knocked out cheap. Their stand last year was really quite impressive, was well laid out and had some demos on the go. Had a little chat to Paul Stevens at Trace Elliot too, he has hinted that a remake of the V-Series is on the cards - this will excite some of you i'm sure. Overall the show was definitely a little smaller than last year, still worth a nose around but the ticket price probably is a little extortionate for what you get. Especially when the car parking is £8 and hot dog is £4.50 ! I'm glad I parked in the railway station and took sandwiches .
6. Please in future edit your original post title to indicate it's sold. Cheers.
7.
Maybe Basschat should take the lead and have a stand. Just look at the variety of equipment we could wheel out It would put the manuafcturers and distributors to shame..
Watch this space .
8. No cash here either - but i'll be pimping basschat to every stand I go to .
9. If it were on a thread it means they are currently writing a post - on the front screen i'm not so sure..
10. Corvette $$ here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7598 and http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7780 And I quite like the Jazz 24 - loads of balls to them.
11. Seem fairly pricey to be honest - these look better value to me: http://www.thomann.de/gb/layla_bassguitar_kit_pstyle.htm
12.
...Quite a common speling misteak on Ebay....
Oh the bitter irony.
13. Miller's website still says he uses EBS though.. http://www.marcusmiller.com/faq.html?categ...=28&color=8
14. Sounds a bit too serious for me... can't hurt to email I suppose.
15. There's alot less than there was - maybe they haven't finished ? Either way - a new website doesn't mean their customer focus will change. This bit on the main page tickled me "The Bass Centre's commitment to service applies equally to professionals and enthusiasts alike"
16. They're ok - do some good budget models but the higher end models are often out shined by bigger names unfortunately.
17. I expect I shall have a nose .
18. Probably ped - we all know how he likes to make 'home videos'.
19. I'll be there Saturday after 10am or so, will be spending a little while at BassDirect stand with poptart and ped so will see people there .
20. Very well done - it's something i've been learning extremely slow for a little while. You seem to have it alot better than me .
21. I've used them for a while - have moved to the EXLs though. I found the ProSteels were amazingly bright, but lost their brilliance too quickly compared to the nickels.
22. Ok I picked up my ABM300 from kevcooke today (cheers Kev !)- sampled it initially through a Warwick 211 Pro cab using a custom shop Warwick Vampyre NT5. It sounded anything but 'woolly' to me. Plugged my Stingray into it too, superb and bright sound. Now then - I got it home and tried it through my MAG210 - sounded nice and bright again, I seem to be missing the woolliness ! Admittedly, neither of these tests were at gig volumes so it isn't a complete test, but I can't see it being majorly different. Certainly there are brighter cabs available, but they don't sound muffled or lacking to my ears.
23. I'd say you might be heard but it'd sound a bit naff. I think you'd be better off with the MAG210, I assume your reason for selling it is it's heavy and a pain to lug ?
24. Yep gone, cheers Boy Thunder.
