1. I had one like that once when my fingers caught the poles on my Stingray pickup.. so much pain..
2. Yves Carbonara looked really into it, Jean Boredin looked well.. bored.. especially at 40 seconds in.
3. The picture is of a MAG115 ? An ABM MINI 15 looks like this:
4. Lovely looking Jazz there.. some good photography too .
5. Only a 20 min drive for me .
6. No loss on the sub-harmonics, but not sure about that humming problem. I can get mine to hum if I turn input/volume to max (with nothing plugged in), but that's just background interference amplified.
7. If/when i get another cab to go with my MAG210 it's likely to be a MAG115..
8. Pics always help people sell gear on here, it might be worth adding some if you can .
9. eBay would net him £225-£275 I reckon. That's the feel i've gotten from watching Jazzes on there over the last few months..
10. I had a brief nose - didn't play anything due to a large crowd unfortunately..
11. I think it's the whole 'one good sound' thing. It isn't punk to care about versatility or something..
12.
Did anyone notice that sound control operated alot of the smaller stands to?. Had some serious GAS for the Brazilian made guitars some awesome woods being used. Couldn't get any where near the stand. Needed some new strings but had to settle for Duff's autogragh on the Rotosound stand BUMMER Steve
I played the 5 string they had on Saturday, a crowd appeared around me . Superb bass, very pricey at £2500 but I feel could be worth it.
13. Interesting... so basically they charge you the earth but you can claim fairly easily on pretty much anything..
14. It'd be more like 200w... not just half of the max RMS .
15. Gas for me: Fox bass custom 5 string thingy Skjold '92 (I think) Nordstrand Jazz OLP MM32
16. Of those 3 i'd go for the Schecter.
17. It's something he's working on - that being an all tube head. That's about it really... sorry !
18. Got back a little earlier, had a very good nose about. BassDirect's stand was most impressive, the Skjold was a wonder as well as the Nordstrand Jazz. The Bergantino cabs are seriously good too, worth considering and not badly priced at all. Many thanks to Mark (poptart) for inviting me along. Saw ped and Toasted there too.. I oddly was impressed with the Vintage V1004DX at the JHS stand. A lovely and thick (about 15mm) spalted maple top, with MM/J pickup and active EQ. A steal at £229 I must say: The ErnieBall (stringsandthings.co.uk) stand was also mightily impressive, got a chance to try out an OLP MM32. This was of suprising quality and really did sound pretty damned good. See below for it sat between some of it's US cousins. It's a bass i'd consider to sit along side my Stingray without a doubt. The Ashdown stand was hideously disappointing, a little stand with a few boxes strewn about and a couple of cabs/heads being knocked out cheap. Their stand last year was really quite impressive, was well laid out and had some demos on the go. Had a little chat to Paul Stevens at Trace Elliot too, he has hinted that a remake of the V-Series is on the cards - this will excite some of you i'm sure. Overall the show was definitely a little smaller than last year, still worth a nose around but the ticket price probably is a little extortionate for what you get. Especially when the car parking is £8 and hot dog is £4.50 ! I'm glad I parked in the railway station and took sandwiches .
19. Please in future edit your original post title to indicate it's sold. Cheers.
20.
Maybe Basschat should take the lead and have a stand. Just look at the variety of equipment we could wheel out It would put the manuafcturers and distributors to shame..
Watch this space .
