In addition to my US Fender Deluxe Stratocaster (Click me to see), I am reluctantly selling my black Yamaha Nathan East BB-NE2 5 string bass.

Please see the model details and specification at the Yamaha site (below).

I bought my bass new approximately 12 months ago and it is in exceptional condition. It comes complete with the official Yamaha case which again, is in superb condition. The Yamaha documentation and tools are all there also. It plays really lovely and the preamp really must be heard to be believed.

As you may or may not know, these basses are difficult to find and this bass is just over £2,000 new.

Photos will be up shortly. If you want any extra information, just shout. PS, I am based in the West Midlands. Thanks.

So, with reluctance, please make me a sensible offer via PM.

- sorry that some of the photos are a bit blurred. I literally took a few snaps, took the memory card out the camera, legged it to the airport and uploaded them from there.

Thanks for the interest and the PMs - I shall respond when I have got some piece and quiet to read them properly.
Thank Paul - nice doing business with you! Enjoy!
You too Russ..... I will.....

It may well become 'available' again shortly though as I am having a MUCH harder time getting my head round that extra string than I thought I would!!!!! even when I just use it as an anchor for my thumb my brain just won't let my fingers go where they should!!!! I'm not going down without a fight though, I'm gonna give it 2 weeks before I decide for certain.

So boys and girls, keep an eye out, she maybe back up for sale. If anyone wants to register thier interest early just in case please feel free!! :)

I must say though Russ..... what a beautiful, beautiful instrument..... and the tone.......... never mind plays like butter the sound melts like it too... just awesome.... Why oh why don't they offer this in a 4 string!!!!!!??????? It really is the mutts!!!!!!

Cheers
Paul

Stick with it dude - once you get a hold on the extra string, you won't go back to a 4! It took me a while making the jump for a 4 to a 5 but I wouldn't go back now!

Told you the preamp and pickups are awesome! The amount of intricate bottom end you can get out of it... is well... staggering!

Hope the Cort is living up to expectations too! Looks like your son got a got a nice piece of kit there.

Paul, ultimately you've got to give the adaptation plenty time. I suspect many who have tried 5s expect things to happen overnight but thats not going to happen as an awful lot of old habits need to be relearned. The best way I found to adapt was to focus on the upper 4 as my usuals with that luscious fat B string for fat moments. Took me about 6 months to get fully comfortable but now I prefer 5's. It also helps to play songs where you've missed the B string - maybe learn a song with a synth bass line to it. The other great thing about an extra string is that your hand doesn't have to move about quite so much so positioning is a load easier.
