  1. Just checked the site, really wicked music. I am really tempted to put in for this, but being in Chichester, just too far away to commit regularly. If you ever need a dep I would definitely be interested. Please let us know if you are ever down this way as would love to catch you live.
  2. Obviously this is a pretty low rent family as they are wasting police time over a £100 bass, what's the worst that could happen, scummy dad finds out your address from clumsy shop owner and beats down you door whilst steaming drunk. I would be rid, not worth the hassle. Sounds like you are doing the right thing anyway.
  3. Say the guitarist meant 200 each
  4. To be honest the band will mainly be focusing on what they are doing. Hit the important bits at the right time and try and catch the bands groove as most play songs slightly differently. When auditioning personality is equally as important as ability. Good luck.
  5. mrtcat, if this comes up again, I am very interested. Ta Mike
  6. Some songs do have a gig speed rather than recorded speed (if you are doing covers), so it may be worth agreeing the tempo that everyone is comfortable with rather than saying this is the tempo and we are rigidly sticking to it. We had a great guitarist with no rhythm once, was very tricky.
  7. Littlehampton has more wierdos than anywhere else, and I've played Bognor Regis!!!!
  8. You can rotate your hand (ie directly over the strings) to get modestly different sounds as to get more volume but not hit the fret board
  9. I think you can wire the pad if necessary. Plus if you want to go wifi you need to plug in a router so it is local wifi not proper wifi (if that makes sense)
  10. Stand by me - you would get that in three notes. Break stuff by limp bizkit you would get in two ;-)
  11. I was thinking that a reunion would be very fruitful for them. Wasn't aware how many massive videos godley and crème directed.
  12. IMO there should be a nominal charge for the ticket so people mentally "commit" to going.
  13. We have a couple of bars on the speaker poles. We do link them, which imho looks better.
  14. krspn above has said everything I was going to. Don't lose the grove unless intentionally and be tight with the drummer.
  15. I was thinking that, you could be there all day with every fret and then go back tot eh beginning again. Mind Blown!!!
  16. I did wonder if that was it but didn't think it would be that substantial. As a cheeky follow on, when checking / setting intonation, is it best to tune to open & 12th fret or is there some other voodoo?
  17. Can anyone answer, why are strings different lenths ie, the risers at the bridge are not all in a straight line. Surely an octave is half the wavelength so why are they not all the same? Ta in advance Mike
  18. Though shall be the only member of the band with gaffa tape and a drum key. Though shall be the member of the band who has to go and find the drummer for soundcheck and start of the second set.
  19. Open with your strongest song as a confidence booster. End with the song that will make the audience happy. I have seen some awful bands who end with a big number and the crowd think the whole gig was amazing. Sadly this is a true story.
  20. It looks like someone has stolen an award shield from a school hall and stuck some pickups on it.
