  1. lol, I am far from a purist. I am happy with close enough for the right price, although it is difficult to fine many US five strings out there ;-)
  2. So is the consensus that the US ones are the more preferred choice? Ta Mike
  3. Headlining mainstage at Download all the way. Plus I married the girl of my dreams (just encase she reads this ;-)
  4. Just been to Black Star riders gig. All three bands using precisions which all sounded great. So my question for those in the know is, whilst I appreciate there may be subtle differences, do all precisions sound pretty much the same?
  5. It is useful to have a guitar around when doing bvs, as generally singing the same note as the singer sounds aweful, however the bv note can be anything depending on the need of the song. Using guitar chords can give you a quick and easy way to find complimentary notes to try. Although pitching them can be tricky live.
  6. I had a read. There should be a sequel. Perhaps on how the young lady goes on to prosper and get to the top of the industry ;-)
  7. That's pretty, glad it is well out of my price range, unless you want to swap for a Mark bass Jeff Berlin Combo ;-)
  8. If I were said bass playing in the band, I would prefer to know sooner rather than later, bit like a plaster being ripped off. Sounds like the rot is already there, it is just a matter of time. WT the new position, I would familierise myself with the songs and have them up to jam standards.
  9. We do this. I have a behringer XR18 and the monitor outs are loud enough to run headphones, hence there can be six individual headphone mixes to everyones content.
  10. I have to go to horsey things like show jumping. I don't hate it but I would rather be covered in chocolate and thrown to the lesbians if I had a choice ;-) I will be at download suffering so you guys don't have to.
  11. Dakota - Sterophonics. Good song but I once played a cover band festival and literally every band played it, apart from us as we are metal!!!
  12. I play in a very metal band. I did play to coolest looking bass, which got a lot of comment with regards to visuals, however the output was low so switched to a much punchier warwick. Saying that the K5 has gone to a luthier to sort the output out, so I suppose for me image is important.
  13. Has anyone heard of or seen a mirrored bass strap, sort of like the small squares you would find on a mirror ball but stuck on a strap. I think it would look cool??? Ta Mike
  14. Interested if it falls through or buyer not happy. Can't believe I missed this post.
  15. I went with Dave in the end, as he is closer. Very amenable although I suspect not the cheapest. Still what price for peace of mind.
  16. My set up would be action as low as you can without it rattling when I bash it. I am dead technical. Just ordered some luminlay stuff to assentuate the artwork. The guitar will either look amazing or sh*t.
  17. Why not keep the band going, I know loads of bands who have regular members changes but still trade under the same name.
  18. Maybe not an inch but a good 12mm.
  19. The strings are about an inch away from the fretboard. The wood has been carved with various designs, I am not sure how to get a pic on here???? I have eternal guitars recommended to me, who are about a mile up the road, it is big effort to get to brighton so may well go with the least line of resistance.
  20. UK Lefty, this sounds like what I need, so a good guide price.
  21. It is a new nut. The guy did loads of artistic work to it for nothing so pleased to have it back looking amazing. I just hate paying someone for something I should be able to do myself.
  22. I am on the south coast Chichester / Bognor area. Perhaps I should just bite the bullet.
