  1. Can you hire or borrow?
  2. There must be some simple chip tech wizardry that can do this. Triple button of octave up and fuzz on. jobs a good un. three separate outs with the option to merge them all. £300, everyone would have one.
  3. Yep, they are the first to make a decent success out of it. Very impressive too. Someone will do a Royal Blood pedal soon, if they haven't already.
  4. They must have played the smaller venues at some point ;-) I do have a Royal Blood set up, admittedly I don't use it live, I think it is just the fact that us bass players aren't as prescious about "our sound" as guitarists are.
  5. I agree, although they still insist on pre DI even when I have a DI on my amp. I guess they know what works for them and go with it, which is fair enough, but what if it was essential to capture the delay. Imagine royal blood if they DI him pre effects...
  6. Yep, but how come the guitarist gets his amp mic'd??? I get it, but I don't agree with it. Imagine motorhead with no distortion on bass ;-)
  7. We once had a stink bomb let off in the pub. thought it was the singer but after a while it hurt. Bad times.
  8. Its more the fact that I don't get My sound from my amp, just a line in advance of the amp, not even from the amp itself.
  9. I have played the Wedgewood Rooms circuit venue and they insist in DI the bass, which I think completely makes the backline pointless. Saying that it always sounds epic, so no real complaints.
  10. Get the gig out of the way, then give the news. Good luck
  11. you need to have a "I'm not happy for these reasons" chat. Can we do something about this, if not then decide if you are willing to tolerate it, although I suspect it will eat you up, or leave. alternatively back burner it in to a low maintenance project, start something else and see what happens.
  12. Yep, I think they are going to get our business for Tshirts. Those backdrops look great.
  13. Thanks colleya, was that a material one or plastic? thanks mike
  14. Yep this is a price I am more than happy to pay. I have a vistaprint account, good to read the quality is ok. their price is usually fabulous. Thanks
  15. Yep 100 ts coming in at around £330 from those sites, I expect delivery will be extra but this is very reasonable.
  16. Cheers, I agree about the quality. That's the benefit of a recommendation.
  17. Yep seen him play with Mr Big and others, he just blew me away with how easy he makes it look.
  18. Have a new band coming along and want some T-shirts and a backdrop. anyone got any good recommendations at a sensible price? Will be looking at white on black. I appreciate we have probably done this before but am looking for up to date ish. Thanks Mike
  19. Disused Cement Factory on the A283 Shoreham looks awesome
  20. On a similar vein, I saw the Temperance Movement a couple of weeks ago and they all look like teenagers but sound like seasoned pros. There is a new wave of classic rock movement at the moment, and I include Greta Van Fleet in this, and for me music hasn't been this exciting for many years.
  21. There is a phrase "The only reason we can see so far is that we are standing on the shoulders of giants". Elvis may have opened the door but it was the Beatles who ran through. Doesn't mean you have to like them or even think of them as great musicians, although I personally think they are. The Ed Sulivan performance sent big ripples around the world and I can't think of any other music event that has had such an impact, even live aid. He may be calling things as he sees it and he may be wrong.
  22. One thing I have learnt is just because it is recorded doesn't mean it will sound good live, particularly with fills. I learn the basic framework, lock in with the other musicians as they will tend to do their own thing and then look at what's missing and then put that in.
  23. If you have to ask the question you already know the answer.
  24. Political correctness gone mad. What if the Who were trying to make a statement that was actually politically correct, would that make it different? I don't see any hate in there?
