  1. If it's slave labour, it was slave labour even before this deal!
  2. Never mind the PR language, most Behringer pedals are now only $19 from Sweetwater and £17.90 on Thomann. Got to be worth a punt, even with the delivery charge!
  3. Like quite a few others here (judging by some of the other listings), I bought this on eBay for £275 on a whim at the end of May, with the idea it would be great to learn during lockdown, but I ended up full-time WFH and only picked it up from time to time. It came with a gigbag and I bought the dedicated stand which cost me another £40 or so: https://www.thomann.de/gb/stagg_svedb_electric_upright_stand.htm; so I think this is a fair price for the lot. It's not in perfect condition, but I'd give it 9 out of 10 (I've tried to show where there are a couple of marks) and personally, I wish it hadn't got a white saddle cover and tuning pegs, but I reckon that would be easy to fix. The stand is incredibly robust and really looks after the instrument well. I couldn't tell you what the strings are, probably Stagg's own, but the the tone is great through my Ashdown rig (which I'm also selling - see Amps and Cabs) and quite impressive even unamplified; so I'm quite sad to have to let this go, but I really have to make some space in my tiny studio/office and I can't justify keeping it. I'm open to sensible offers or trades (guitars, pedals, cash adjustments). Socially distanced collection possible (as I write, but further U-turns no doubt on the horizon 😕). I'm happy to courier it at buyer's cost, which would be between £25 and £40 in the UK depending on courier and service required. I've got a couple of instructional books, which I'd be happy to throw in if the full price is met. So there you have it - thanks for reading this. Pete
  4. This is slightly confusing. The cab looks exactly like the RM-210T Evo II, but it's not marked as Evo on the backplate (see pix), and it's completely different from the (discontinued) RM-210T shown on the Ashdown website. I bought it for £160 in May from eBay, complete with its blue-piped Roqsolid cover, which looks very smart indeed! However, as I've explained elsewhere (see my listing for an Ashdown combo), I urgently need to clear some space, so this has to go. It's been used only for practice and has never left home. It's rated at 350W and handled the 300W combo with ease. Fortunately, we're sufficiently isolated from the neighbours, so I've been able to test the power, though not very often, tbh. Weight is 15.5Kg, so chunky but easily manageable one-handed. Collection kind of depends on prevailing lockdown rules, but it's only about £7 for delivery anywhere in the UK. If you're interested in the combo too - it's a MAG C-110 250 300-watter - I could certainly come up with a discount price. I'm also happy to hear suggestions for trades, with cash going either way as appropriate (especially for interesting boutique pedals). Oh, and I can throw in a Neutrik Speakon to right-angle jack cable to sweeten the deal. Thanks for looking. Pete
  5. Immaculate condition, never gigged, only used for practice, less than a year old (it cost me £240). It has the green fascia which was a PMT "exclusive", for what it's worth, though it does look quite classy! 300 watts into a 10" speaker at 8Ω - great for small gigs, practice and rehearsal. VU meter, 5-band EQ, active/passive inputs, Bright and Deep Modes, footswitchable overdrive, compression, sub-harmonics, balanced DI out, FX loop, tuner/line out. Weight 28Kg, so not ridiculously heavy, but sturdy enough that it won't slide around a stage when cranked to 11, like some of the lightweight kit around. And it is loud. I'm also selling a 2x10 cab in a separate post - I could do a discount if both are purchased together. The price is for collection from Nottingham area (30-mile radius) when that becomes possible. Otherwise, I can arrange for courier at buyer's cost (not expensive for UK delivery: Parcelforce 48hr £10.09; UPS Standard £14.60). Getting rid because I desperately need some space! I'm open to sensible offers and I'd be up for a trade for a Bass Flyrig, with balancing cash going either way, or a fretless 4-string - that sort of thing. Thanks for looking (if you got this far!). Pete
  6. Speaking as an elderly white man, I'm fascinated by his current take on music's domination by the conventions of old white men - just refreshing to have such a well thought through challenge to the perceptions we take for granted. Probably doesn't improve my bass playing, but it sure as hell improves my approach to the music I love to listen to.
  7. Me too, but they didn't seem to be a sales or marketing thing, or at least not obviously.
  8. While we're talking about YT bass educators, what do you make of Adam Neely?
  9. Funky - yes. Loo - yes. Booga? Clearly a personal choice!
  10. You obviously weren't around in the 60s!
  11. Does it have to be through Scott Devine?
  12. I get the Jaco thing in terms of his incredible dexterity and creativity, but I'd much rather listen to and work out a Carol Kaye line than try to dance all over the fretboard.
  13. No doubt about that!
  14. It's probably because of my advanced age, I tend to sign into things out of politeness - like they've put this stuff up, I ought to introduce myself!
  15. Does that detract from my point?
  16. Scott Devine - sorry, Scott!
  17. That works for some things, but I think the word bass combined with guitar is enough for him to be all over me on YouTube, for instance.
  18. Anyone else getting p*ssed off with the constant clickbait from Scott Devine? Bless him, he's a great musician and an engaging personality, but I can't move on the interweb without being bumped into by him - not just on email (now blocked), but also on YouTube (sometimes in the middle of what I'm watching, quite apart from the ads at the beginning of other video channels) and on FB. For instance, I used to follow quite a few interesting bass-related posters on FB, but Scott used to pop up on their sites with ads and posts, not always directly promoting his own site, but you knew why they were there. It may be that his constant self-promotion is in the interests of bassists in general, because it gives a boost to our instrument, but as someone who has the word "bass" as a default for most types of internet search, from instruments and pedals to stories about performers and historic gigs, I'm heartily sick of seeing Mr Devine popping up wherever I go - the internet version of your girlfriend's annoying younger (but bigger) brother. Grrrr!!!!
  19. The problem with the Wingbass is its looks - cheaper, yes; unique (thankfully), yes; attractive (IMHO), no. Looks like a headless chicken.
  20. Amazing! Thank you Christophe!
  21. Mark King now announced on the MarkBass stand!
  22. Ha!
