  1. Immaculate condition, never gigged, only used for practice, less than a year old (it cost me £240). It has the green fascia which was a PMT "exclusive", for what it's worth, though it does look quite classy! 300 watts into a 10" speaker at 8Ω - great for small gigs, practice and rehearsal. VU meter, 5-band EQ, active/passive inputs, Bright and Deep Modes, footswitchable overdrive, compression, sub-harmonics, balanced DI out, FX loop, tuner/line out. Weight 28Kg, so not ridiculously heavy, but sturdy enough that it won't slide around a stage when cranked to 11, like some of the lightweight kit around. And it is loud. I'm also selling a 2x10 cab in a separate post - I could do a discount if both are purchased together. The price is for collection from Nottingham area (30-mile radius) when that becomes possible. Otherwise, I can arrange for courier at buyer's cost (not expensive for UK delivery: Parcelforce 48hr £10.09; UPS Standard £14.60). Getting rid because I desperately need some space! I'm open to sensible offers and I'd be up for a trade for a Bass Flyrig, with balancing cash going either way, or a fretless 4-string - that sort of thing. Thanks for looking (if you got this far!). Pete
  2. Speaking as an elderly white man, I'm fascinated by his current take on music's domination by the conventions of old white men - just refreshing to have such a well thought through challenge to the perceptions we take for granted. Probably doesn't improve my bass playing, but it sure as hell improves my approach to the music I love to listen to.
  3. Me too, but they didn't seem to be a sales or marketing thing, or at least not obviously.
  4. While we're talking about YT bass educators, what do you make of Adam Neely?
  5. Funky - yes. Loo - yes. Booga? Clearly a personal choice!
  6. I get the Jaco thing in terms of his incredible dexterity and creativity, but I'd much rather listen to and work out a Carol Kaye line than try to dance all over the fretboard.
  7. It's probably because of my advanced age, I tend to sign into things out of politeness - like they've put this stuff up, I ought to introduce myself!
  8. That works for some things, but I think the word bass combined with guitar is enough for him to be all over me on YouTube, for instance.
  9. Anyone else getting p*ssed off with the constant clickbait from Scott Devine? Bless him, he's a great musician and an engaging personality, but I can't move on the interweb without being bumped into by him - not just on email (now blocked), but also on YouTube (sometimes in the middle of what I'm watching, quite apart from the ads at the beginning of other video channels) and on FB. For instance, I used to follow quite a few interesting bass-related posters on FB, but Scott used to pop up on their sites with ads and posts, not always directly promoting his own site, but you knew why they were there. It may be that his constant self-promotion is in the interests of bassists in general, because it gives a boost to our instrument, but as someone who has the word "bass" as a default for most types of internet search, from instruments and pedals to stories about performers and historic gigs, I'm heartily sick of seeing Mr Devine popping up wherever I go - the internet version of your girlfriend's annoying younger (but bigger) brother. Grrrr!!!!
  10. The problem with the Wingbass is its looks - cheaper, yes; unique (thankfully), yes; attractive (IMHO), no. Looks like a headless chicken.
  11. Mark King now announced on the MarkBass stand!
  12. What a star you are, Chris - thank you so much. One of my favourite tracks. Apologies for slow reply - been offsite for a few days.
  13. Chris, still enjoying your work! Have you ever looked at any Bill Withers? For instance, "Who is he (and what is he to you)?" It's got a really catchy bass line, not flashy, but very funky! Pete
  14. That's what it looks like to me. Either way, they seem to have found themselves a perfectly good bassist in Chris Bartle, though somehow i doubt whether it was on BC.
