  1. I am going to spend the next six months learning how to bake cake.
  2. I think Dutch Customs were taking a similar "serves you right" attitude from day 1 (or is that B Day?). Can't blame them, tbh.
  3. Kev bought an Ashdown combo from me recently (it took a while to get it to him because he's in France, but we got there in the end). The whole process has been totally transparent, friendly and communicative and Kev himself has been a joy to do business with. I would be very happy to sell to or buy from him in the future and I can recommend him heartily to other Basschatters. Good man!
  4. A message from Neil (the organiser) today: "We do have news to share with the return of the bass show. We are just finalising details before we make the announcement. This will go out before the end of this month. As soon as we can, you will know. Just stay tuned to our social media for updates.. best wishes, Neil" So we should know within the next fortnight or so. Fingers very tightly crossed...!🤞
  5. How about Nordoff Robbins - music for young people? Or would people prefer a charity supporting NHS workers? Or the Safe Cities for Women Campaign? All very deserving at the moment.
  6. It will have been exactly 28 months since the last one! Doesn't time fly?! 😉
  7. Hi, sorry not to have answered this before, for some reason I never saw the callout, but I totally agree.
  8. Eden I-90 Bass Chorus - £45. Includes box, manual and power supply. Digitech X-series Bass Driver/Distortion - £35 EHX Bass Big Muff Pi - £35 All in good nick and working, the Eden and Big Muff have velcro on the back, the Digitech is free of hooky stuff (except possibly tonally!). Collection from Nottingham or posted for an extra fiver. Payment by PayPal G & S (I'll pay the fees) or cash on socially-distanced collection. These are bargains tbh, but I want rid to keep promise to offset costs of recent purchases! Pete
  9. I haven't bought a huge amount from BD - only one bass (!) and some other bits and pieces - but Mark and co have always been unfailingly helpful and friendly, so very happy to support this thread.
  10. Anywhere else in the world, that would be enough to get you arrested!
  11. Sorry, didn't see this before commenting.
  12. That's good, I sort of remember £135, but either that's changed or I got it wrong (far from impossible!)
  13. Thanks Al, very helpful. (Not that I intend to buy either of these basses - the pup configuration doesn't appeal to me.)
  14. Am I wrong in thinking that buying the HB (only available from Thomann) is going to involve you in extra customs and customs management charges as it costs more than £100? Or has that changed since I last looked (a few weeks ago, tbh)?
  15. @Richard R - Brawley Artemis 4, Brawley Artemis 5, EBS Session60 amp, something to weigh basses with. @Frank Blank - Rob Allen Mouse Fretless, Rob Allen Mouse Fretted, Ibanez SRC6, QSC K12.2, HX Stomp. @Stub Mandrel - Frender Performer, Hohner Jack Custom V, Deathburger (HB kit build), TE 1110 combo? @petecarlton - Mayones Cali4 "Puzzle" Bass: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYAvWZGwc4s&t=13s&ab_channel=BassTheWorld.com
  16. Sorry, I meant the question as to whether to invite them.
  17. Actually, I don't think it was my question (whether to invite them, anyway) but I totally agree. It just seemed about right in terms of numbers last time - and there's got to be enough cake to go round 🍰 😀
  18. I was really new to bass at the time and I just remember how friendly and helpful everyone was - it was a real inspiration.
  19. OK, so now the important stuff. What are you going to bring (apart from cake!)?
