  1. You've been listening to me play, Jamie! Thanks for being on the ball. I'm looking forward to it already!
  2. Everyone beat me to the punch in uploading some really excellent pix from the day (sorry, work intervened!). But here's what Google decided to do with the pix I did take - shakiness down to them, not my subsequent whisky consumption! Midlands Bash Bass 040519.mp4
  3. Can I just say, as a Bass Bash "virgin", what a great time I had this afternoon. What a friendly bunch you Basschatter(er)s are! Thanks so much to Jamie and his mum for all the work they put in, to everyone who brought such wonderful and exotic gear, to Andy for the really interesting talk on lighter bass-building and to you all for being so welcoming to a complete newbie. Next year I promise to actually try my hand on some of the exotica, without shaming myself or embarrassing everyone else!
  4. Ah, gotcha. I'm in Mapperley, so quite a trek on public transport.

  6. Hi Mojo, fully intending to be there, though not with the exotica promised by some others on the event page! I'll add my name to list. 👍
  7. Sang like an angel, writes like an angel 😇
  8. Josie, our cat Crystal runs for the garden the minute I pick up my bass (mind you, she does the same with Donna and her sax!). Maybe she's just got taste?
  9. And it gets stronger, in every way! And it gets deeper, let me say. And it gets higher, day by day-y-y!!!
  10. Hi all! I started playing bass for the first time at the age of 67 back in October. After a (brief) flirtation with a Gear4Music Electro-Acoustic (which, I have to say, was inspirational), I now have a Sterling Stingray SUB 4, of which I am inordinately fond. It's Mint Green and the most bling-y thing I own. I love it very much and I am having such a ball learning something new in my dotage 😉 Big up to my teacher Chris Pidgeon - total confidence, much respect! And to Ed at Nottingham Drum and guitar Centre for his patience. That's it! Pete
