That works for some things, but I think the word bass combined with guitar is enough for him to be all over me on YouTube, for instance.

Anyone else getting p*ssed off with the constant clickbait from Scott Devine? Bless him, he's a great musician and an engaging personality, but I can't move on the interweb without being bumped into by him - not just on email (now blocked), but also on YouTube (sometimes in the middle of what I'm watching, quite apart from the ads at the beginning of other video channels) and on FB. For instance, I used to follow quite a few interesting bass-related posters on FB, but Scott used to pop up on their sites with ads and posts, not always directly promoting his own site, but you knew why they were there. It may be that his constant self-promotion is in the interests of bassists in general, because it gives a boost to our instrument, but as someone who has the word "bass" as a default for most types of internet search, from instruments and pedals to stories about performers and historic gigs, I'm heartily sick of seeing Mr Devine popping up wherever I go - the internet version of your girlfriend's annoying younger (but bigger) brother. Grrrr!!!!

The problem with the Wingbass is its looks - cheaper, yes; unique (thankfully), yes; attractive (IMHO), no. Looks like a headless chicken.

After all the discussion, concern and hope, have to say it was a bit meh. Hoping the Manchester event will be a lot better. No pressure!

I've just picked up an EBMM Bongo 4H from Mark, complete with hard case, and it was such an easy and friendly process. He was extraordinarily helpful in advance, very easy to communicate with, he came out to the station to meet me and, all in all, it was a delightful transaction (and I'm equally delighted with my purchase, at a very fair price). Apologies if this has been addressed in previous topics, but I'm a learner with a left-hand problem. When I fret with my little finger, my middle finger flies away from the fretboard. It's as if I need to get more leverage to support the pinky, but I've proved to myself that that's not necessary. The action on my Ray 34 is pretty low, so I don't have to push hard on the strings (Ernie Ball Super Slinky). It's not a problem most of the time, but anything fast with lots of eighth notes can be awkward (I'm not even thinking about sixteenths!). Apart from practice, practice, practice, any thoughts? Someone a bit off the wall: Richard Siinclair - bassist with Caravan, Hatfield and the North and, later, Caravan of Dreams. Although he came to bass late, he held down the bottom end in a maelstrom of jazzy prog-rock psychedelia, no mean feat.
