    Frank, the last people to ask about nearby hotels are the locals - they never use them! I will do a bit of asking around though and maybe post a list with price points, etc.

    Morning, Richard - yes, I'll definitely be bringing it. By then, I should have managed to explore the majority of the tonal options on the pre-amp! I think we're still the only ones who've added to that thread - might be worth giving some sort of a reminder or explainer. I'll have a look later.

    I sometimes offer stuff on FB and/or eBay as well as here, but always cheaper on BC.

    I don't know about Ed's situation, but the Music Inn in Nottingham deserves support - it's a mother and son family business and they've been a great help to me over the years - and not that far from Derby.
