  1. You didn’t ruin it, the last person did! I think making it a player is the most fitting tribute to any instrument. Think of it like a castle - very few of them are 100% original!
  2. Looking forward to seeing this process. Still absolutely love the Kay you did (still want first dibs should you sell, too!)
  3. Ooh, looky looky! 799 dollars...
  4. Love the finish on this one, is there an accompanying thread?
  5. Or what sized cab would get the best out of that Fane driver? I’ve got a small amp module (20w) that I put together from a kit in the house somewhere. It worked on a 9v battery. I was going to put it in a pedal housing to use as a tiny amp and also separately to drive some spring reverb tanks. Damned if I can find it now though!
  6. I was waiting or the Pearl Jam bass line!!! That is fantastic. Love it.
  7. I was going to build a minimalist cube amp a few years ago (I like to sketch when I’m bored). I wanted to round the edges off and paint it a nice sky blue. Dug my notepad out and took a snap for you. Input & power at the back, volume & power switch on the front.
  8. Oh, hang on, the Ux1 doesn’t have midi - it’s audio only. Just read up on it though, you should be able to use the Moog effectively as a Midi interface with your computer. So the midi is over USB, but then the MIDI DIN sockets can patch up to the MIDI DIN sockets on your other equipment. You could then patch the audio outs from those devices through your Behringer mixer to your audio interface. Oooh, the possibilities!!!
  9. For my suggestion about the Moog, you’d need to go midi out from your computer interface to midi in on the Moog, then audio out from the Moog to audio in on the interface. The Dr Sample was a while ago for me, but I think you had to be quite on the ball if sampling directly, as I don’t think there was an editing function on board for trimming the samples. Probably could dump them to disc but then that might be tricky to find a card reader for your computer!
  10. I had one for a short while, then child number 1 was born, and I sold it (just because it wasn’t being used). Might pick up a Teenage Engineering PO 33 instead. WRT your midi set up, you could have your DAW sequencing your Moog playing a choon, then record the Moog audio output back in to your DAW while you fiddle with all the knobs. That’s fun.
  11. Yeah, you should sell the sampler... to me!
  12. What a great forum this is! Thanks Phil! And Bill!
  13. https://cpc.farnell.com/unbranded/sp-167e/speaker-6-5-4ohm/dp/LS01252?st=6.5 driver Data sheets for all the drivers... yay!!
  14. I read a lot on here. Some of it sticks, most phrases just sound familiar and when someone says them to me I look like a dog looking at its own reflection in a mirror. So - at this most pathetic end of the spectrum (15watts in to a 6.5” driver, as cheaply as possible), do I go for higher sensitivity (92dB) or longer Xmax? Only I found a driver on CPC for under 15 squid, but the Xmax is only 2.5mm.
  15. Oh, I’m definitely doing mine now!
  16. I spelt it wrong, too 🤡. Sonor.
  17. Thanks for the input, chaps. I’ll have a think about what to do and let you know if I end up tinkering. I know the sensible thing to do, but sensible is often not as fun!!
  18. Hello chaps, Not a bass per se, but renders the band useless so thought it might be worth a mention here. My drummer left his kit in his Transit, which was stolen this week. Sonor 3005 series kit, all hardware, loads of Sabian cymbals. Obvs shouldn’t have left it in the van (!) but if you are in this neck of the woods and someone offers you a nice kit for cheap, please let me know!!! He’ll be checking Crack Converters etc.
  19. Connected the amp to my BF Two10 - much better 😂😂😂
  20. I did. Would be fairly straightforward to fashion a new baffle looking at it. Was just thinking initially of doing the easiest thing possible to start with! I’m not expecting miracles, just an improved low frequency. Measurements are 12cm x 30cm x 23.3cm, and there are ports (dammit) 2 x 4cm. Going to hook the amp up to something else to see what it sounds like....
  21. Starr by name, Starr by nature!
  22. But Matt, that would be the easy sensible option - it’s just not me 😂
  23. I know it’s a cheapo, but even so, the sound is just brittle. Hifi speakers manage more bass. Pretty sure I’ve seen someone else do something similar.
  24. Nice! Please do a NBD post when it arrives 👍🏻
