1.
Just be careful not to poke too hard and damage any delicate parts.
Yeah, A & E is full of folks who have done that...
2.
The neck/body/hardware are all fine. It's just the phenolic fretboard that's rotting. It's fretted, and I'd attribute the pitting to delamination of the fretboard due to wear from the strings.
do the strings actually touch the fretboard? I don't think they do on my basses, even the SEI, which has small frets.... Do you have long fingernails on your left hand? My guitarist does and it really eats up his boards, rose and maple. I don't like him borrowing my guitars!
3. Phase? Is one of you leads wired reverse?
4.

legend!
5. The musicianship is never really the issue with this kind of music, but the attitude, energy and shouty singing is there, but having heard 3 different performances, I don't think the material is that strong... All this was covered in the Jools Holland thread when they were on it anyhow, though I think the Black Keys got a mention a bit earlier....
6. I always think "stickleback" when I hear "Nickelback". That's all.
7. People only like my playing a Lidl, not a lot.... I'll get me shellsuit
8. I think they sound great, this is LIVE, not the record! Loving the horns too.
9. maybe there aren't many because a lot of pa speakers are going self-powered?
10. I'd expect them to react similarly if it was only the temperature that changed, how about big changes in humidity though?
11. The movement on MusicMan basses might be to do with the minimal finish on the necks, no? I imagine this allows the neck to take on moisture from atmospheric humidity more readily.
12. Spector Legend s/h should fit your bill. The 35" scale sounds very authoritive.
13.
That's as in it should get just as loud with 150watts with 600watts, but out experience more is better, giving you more headroom, a safe 250 should see you getting the most out of it.
I don't think this is exactly what this spec means. I'm pretty sure it won't reach its maximum s.p.l. with 150 watts. Best ask Barefaced Alex though....
14. How about Todd Rundgren vs John Lennon? An open letter was in the Melody Maker
15. U-Retro has flexi connectors for the pots so you can position them as you like
16.
Now do the decent thing, post a larger version for a caption competition
"WANTED - three wedge monitors, must be comfortable under foot"
17.
So this is where it ended up! I played this in the Gallery; it's a great little bass and as Dood says, light as a feather (made even more comfortable by the ergonomics). Quite tempted actually, despite the string spacing being too wide for me, but I must try and hold out for another custom SEi.
You should know that the bridge string width is adjustable. The nut looks the same or narrower than your old flamboyant
18. Yup, that's pretty much a U-Retro by John East.
