1. Hi folks, After playing with Also Eden (a prog rock band from the South-West) for over 5 years (my first band as a bass player), I've managed to set up a new band Colourflow. Here's our SoundCloud page. We're writing/recording lots of new things - hope you like! www.soundcloud.com/colourflow. And if anyone is Cheltenham-bound on May 3rd 2014 we're doing our debut gig at Sound Music Venue! Enjoy.....!
2. Now on eBay - http://tinyurl.com/ozjos7 - please PM if there are no bids though!
3. Hi Dom I'm from Gloucester....just down the road (ish). Welcome to the forums!
4. I've been the proud owner for a Fender Bassman 150 combo for nearly 2 years and recently (yesterday in fact) upgraded to a Mark Bass CMD 102P combo. The Bassman has served me brilliantly for 2 years and is in excellent condition. It's been kept at our rehearal facility most of the time and gigged only once or twice. For rehearsals or more intimate gigs, this combo is fantastic. I don't have any photos but attach a stock photo below (I don't have my own as it's currently in our rehearsal facility - getting it back Tuesday!) - I will post photos on Wednesday! I'm looking for £225 ovno (pick up only from Gloucester) for this - a quickie sale before I turn to the delights of eBay. I'll be putting the amp on sale on eBay Thursday 17th May. Please PM asap if you have questions or wish to arrange a pick-up. Here's the blurb and technical spec (taken from GAK - where I originally bought it) .... "The Bassman 150 combo is a small package that delivers huge tone! The tilt-back design allows for better signal monitoring in close quarters. With full power being delivered internally and a built in horn attenuator, this combo is equally at home with an upright or an electric bass. Fender® Special Design Eminence® USA speakers ensure great tone for practice, rehearsals, live gigs and studio recordings. You won’t believe your ears! The Bassman 150 combo features: • Full power internally (150 watts) • Fender Special Design Eminence USA PRO speakers • Compression driver horn with attenuator switch (FULL/-6dB/OFF) • Semi-parametric mid range controls • Contour control (for scooping mid range frequencies) • Compressor (150 only) • FX loop • Aux input (for CD player input) • Tuner Out (press MUTE to tune in silence) • XLR with Pre/Post, Ground lift and Level control • Real wood cabinet • Tilt back design Weight 39 lbs. (17.69 kg) Dimensions Height: 21" (53.34 cm),Width: 19.25" (48.89 cm),Depth: 17.25" (43.8 cm)"
5.
sorry but im not a lefty, for some reason some of my videos have flipped around like a mirror image! haha
Dang it. Looks like I'll have to give Sir Paul Macca a call to plan out our world domination instead! Take care, Zoe
6.
you have the same name as my uncle.. 'Steve Dunn'
Hi Zoe! Thanks for the warm welcome! Love your myspace/youtube clips. So nice to see another lefty bass player - we've got to stick together and try to usurp those righties!
7.
You might want to reconsider using the name Avalanche, though. There are at least two signed bands - 80s/90s European outfit - and, currently, a US outfit who have toured with Lynyrd Skynyrd - using that name.
Only just noticed this post - but thanks for the heads-up! We're only doing this as a sideline from our "proper" bands, as a bit of pub-gigging, weekend warrior fun. Blues/rock covers and the like.
8.
I use a Fender Bassman 150 - although have my eyes, ears, nose and throat on something a bit beefier and probably more, well, Hartke.
Or Markbass.... the 2x10 combo with built-in Little Mark 2 looks REALLY good!
9. Thanks guys....the requirement from the music service is to have acoustic only basses to loan to students for school lessons. They don't want the kids faffing around with the electrics, hence the requrement for acoustic only. My own personal feeling is they're going to have to like it and lump it.... cost of bespoke luthiers is well out of the range of Council funds! Thanks for your answers guys - much appreciated.
10. Hi folks, Does anyone know make of acoustic-only basses ie. not electro-acoustic. The music service I teach for has a specific requirement for non-electric acoustic basses. Any recommendations?
11. Sorry Sean, I should have cleared this earlier.... have recently discovered "The Reverend" who has taken up low-end rumblings. Thanks for your post, though!
