  1. Aye, this. Almost every single neck without a full painted neck has this from them (exceptions include the Classic Stingray etc). They don't put that lacquer on the back of the next.

  3. Agreed. I have a fair few Musicman instruments, and none of the basses have a weak G. Don't fiddle with the pickup magnets yet...try a few other options.
  4. The Stingray sounds incredible as a fretless.
  5. If I ever get a new bass head, I'll be going Mesa.
  6. Just don't spend loads more....Andertons have it for a hugely inflated price.
  7. I definitely like the latest wave of Musicman BFRs.....especially the Ray 5 and the Albert Lee P90 x 3. Musicman have always said they can't offer a semi custom shop; mind you if you are one of their artists you get some amazing options. One day, I will get a St Vincent guitar!
  8. Jees, that is incredibly nice for such a crazy low price!
  9. Nice spec and I love the white J pickup. Is it a custom USA bass? I would definitely want some funds towards a re-setup with Mr Shuker.
  10. I bought a NOS (not intentionally....it was literally new old stock) 65 Jaguar from Peach Guitars, and the guitar was perfect (and I still have it) but there were some nitro related stress marks like the one in this topic (probably smaller though). That was different. The whole batch of guitars were heavily discounted to clear out the Fender EU warehouse apparently. I was very lucky to get some a wonderful instrument for that price. However, on a brand new instrument that has just been manufactured? Nope. I wouldn't be happy. Also, it just seems the bass isn't quite up to expectations, and the customer service is absolutely horrific. I wouldn't buy one now. I would just offer you a full refund if I was him, and have the bass refinished or sold as b stock. Simple. No stress.
  11. Well, I was going to go for the Strat, got a good price lined up, but decided against it as the spec was lesser than my current Strat. The black paisley is really cool but I can't justify an instrument at the moment purely on finish.
  12. Everyone I've asked has said it's the coolest paisley they've seen. Paisley is only reserved for cool people now. I've reserved a strat....I might go for it.
  13. I was going to get the Strat but it appears to have sold out at most places, understandably.
  14. Isn't the Dart pickup a ceramic/Sterling (as in American Sterling) pickup?
  15. You must have just missed the GuitarGuitar offer. Think they had a few Cutless and Caprice basses at end of line prices, brand new as well from the dealer.
  16. I've just seen Ashdown tease what appears to be a big valve signature amp for Nate Mendel. It could be a one off, but it says 'watch the web'....which suggests this is a tease of it? See their Instagram.
  17. Hiya It's just the Headrush 112 FRFR powered cab, which went to such a low price on Amazon I had to try it, and so far i'm very impressed. I wasn't sure whether to tweak the global EQ as I know a lot of guitarists do this.
  18. Can anyone point me in the right area on here for settings for a FRFR cab with the stomp with bass? E.g. should I amend the global settings? This cab kicks out a LOT of low end....probably too much. The Darkglass pedal model is a lot of fun and the Stomp probably cost just a bit more than one DG product ahahaha!
  19. Just use a Line 6 Stomp/similar pre-amps etc into a PA....even the guitarists.
  20. The pups in that bass are excellent, like REALLY good imo. Spec: American-made Pure Vintage ’64 Jazz Bass single-coil pickups. They are growly and loud....I think.
  21. But why would you even take that bass to a show with that logo?!
  22. To be honest I'd leave it stock and enjoy not fiddling! I love options but the simplicity is great. I imagine these will retain value pretty well.
  23. I'd like one. I like the simplicity, the stunning figured neck, and the overall aesthetics. It's kinda cool in a weird way. This reminds me yet again that there is nothing like a proper Musicman humbucker in the sweet spot.
  24. Well, my life was an absolute rollercoaster just after the Stomp came out, so I put it on hold. Even now, in Jan 2020, things are pretty intense, but I picked up a HX Stomp in the Black Friday sales and I am SUPER impressed. I did own a full fat Helix Floor, but I found it too large, and I just didn't need that much power and control. Even on guitar, I am finding I have enough processing power, in a tiny box, for what I need. The quality of the unit is excellent, the sound is great, and the flexibility is so fun. I have yet to try it with bass, but I can't wait!
