Not sure, just felt amplified compared to a wooden neck. Maybe someone who has basses with both maple and graphite necks can describe it better.

Years ago I had a trans teal 2EQ StingRay and put one of the Status necks on it. Stepdad drilled out the holes for the neck pocket and the MM tuners on a pillar drill at his factory with me in nervous attendance. One of, if not the best mod for a Fender style bass imo. Whole bass gained a feel of being extra solid, notes rung out and there were no issues with the action once set. Only thing I couldn’t get on with was at gig volume even just putting your left hand on the neck between songs was really loud and noticeable and almost felt like it could spiral out of control if the volume wasn’t rolled right back lol. I sold mine for £700 (sold the wood MM neck separately). Now seeing this one for sale on here has got me thinking on repeating the experience.

Cort GB75JH trans black ash body with maple neck and a flame maple fretboard, Omega high mass bridge and Hipshot tuners. Cort “true voice” humbucker and single coil with 2 band EQ circuit with passive mode pull up on volume control. No dings, marks etc. Bought new in January of this year. Weight of bass is approx 9.75lbs according to my bathroom scales. Preferred method of payment is by bank transfer. Will securely package up for shipping if buyer arranges courier from their end. I have sold a fair number of basses on here over the years and have two feedback threads on the go if you want to see my seller history. Keir

Ivory white with mint green pickguard. Virtually unused. Near showroom condition. Discontinued passive model with split humbucker which was part of their classic series. The bass is extremely light and effortless to play. Sounds phenomenal too. Neck dimensions are very similar to a Stingray/modern P. Looking to sell. Only possible trades I am interested in are a Classic series Sabre (2013-2016) or Classic StingRay. I’ve sold a lot of gear on here over the last thirteen years and I’ve got a couple of feedback threads on the go. The bass is available to audition in Ayr, thirty miles south of Glasgow. Thanks for looking Keir

To hear this very bass, this was the one that featured on the Andertons G&L Tribute v Squier Classic Vibe shootout. If it wasn’t this bass then there’s another LB-100 out there with an ash body with exactly the same grain markings on it. Jezzaboy informed me the bass was indeed bought from Andertons. (The P-bass segment starts at 12.50)

** Withdrawn from sale ** G&L Tribute LB-100, 2019 build made in Indonesia. Bought three months ago from Jezzaboy on here. Bass is in excellent condition with no dings. Really nice bass that does the whole P thing brilliantly, but the neck is just a bit too big for me. Asking what I paid for it. Collection from Ayr, 30 miles south of Glasgow. Will box up for shipping if buyer is happy to arrange their own courier.

Withdrawn from sale. Sterling Ray34CA Classic Active in mint green. This is the discontinued model with the slab body, 2 band EQ and gloss vintage tinted neck with the Jazz bass nut width (1.5”/38mm) Having owned a couple of Ray 35 basses previously, I can state with some authority that the build quality on the CA basses is just that bit better. Bass has a few very small marks that cant be seen unless very close, otherwise very clean. Also the pickguard has a couple of small areas of discolouration (on treble side of pickup and treble side of neck pocket - was like this when I got it) Happy to send more pics Monday as I’m off my work during the day. The bass comes with the deluxe padded Sterling gig bag or for £25 extra I can supply the bass with a Hiscox liteflite hard case. Only selling as I have my eyes on something else. Owned by me this last eighteen months and I had planned on keeping this one but it’s always the way that my head gets turned by the next best thing because I ‘need’ it. Available to audition near Ayr, 30 miles south of Glasgow. Would box up for shipping if buyer is happy to arrange courier.

I have the same too. Only position I don’t use is middle/both humbuckers on. Positions 2 & 4 on the switch sound great. In fact Pos 2 (inner coils) is a bit of a revelation for playing slap style. On its own the bridge bucker growls and burps . This bass killed my ongoing Stingray 5 GAS stone dead. Wonderful basses these! -
Your blue swirl look great. Mine in see thru red looks a bit more conservative though no less lovely. As said before, I think my L5500 sounds more like my Spector Euros I used to own than any other G&L I’ve owned and/or played. Don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing and I don’t really understand some of the negative comments about the pickups/EQ on this model. The MFD pickups aren’t always the best fit for any genre and are not to everyone’s tastes either though I suppose they are the signature G&L sound. Each to their own I guess. Just realised I have three G&Ls and not one has MFD pickups. Enjoy your L-5500🙂

As an active, five string version of the full fat USA JB-2 basses I think they look bang on the money and no doubt sound and feel fantastic too. Was it the blue one with the empress body? Only thing I can guess at re the MJ-5 is that it likely wasn’t selling given that most G&L five strings ordered will be L-2500 or JB-5 models. I see that the passive JB-2 bass is discontinued from the USA line too after over twenty years or so in production. Still love the Tribute versions of those and will buy another soon! Incidentally I exchanged a couple of emails too with another basschatter today about another seemingly unloved and forgotten G&L five string - the L-5500. He just picked one up, his is a ‘95 and mine is a ‘96. Not for everyone with EMG pickups and preamp but a seriously well made G&L with its own vibe. Definitely good to have something familiar yet little known and/or under appreciated imo Keir

No complaints from me on how an MM or P sounds for slap. though have always preferred the tone of a J/J bass with both pickups on for that style of playing.

I know Cort may not be the usual fayre in Gear Porn but this one for sure is a looker. (quality right up there too) Introducing my recently acquired flame maple top Cort GB94 with the Seymour Duncan Basslines MM/J pups and Basslines BEQ-3 three band EQ. I’ve been after one of these for a while, flame or spalted top - wasn’t fussed. pictured below with my GB75JH five string and GB99F sunburst J/J four.

Hi Si, I use the LB100 as my workhorse P bass (I also have a MM Cutlass though that is rather stupidly rarely taken out of the case🤔😕) cant fault the look of the LB100 nor the sound. I do find the neck too chunky though especially down by the first few frets. Feels like a baseball bat compared to the Cutlass. I’ve heard a lot of complaints about the Tribute L2K neck and I’ve had a couple of those. The LB100 neck is bigger than that bass. I am debating at the moment whether the LB100 is a keeper. Think I prefer J and modern P/Stingray sized necks.
