  1. Russ acted as an initial go between his guitarist and me over the sale of my Sterling AX20. Sale went through and his mate now has said guitar. thanks Russ much appreciated! Keir
  2. Surprised at the lack of love for the Gretsch. Final BUMP before withdrawing it and finally getting round to putting some flats on it before then putting it under the bed again.
  3. Now £250. Will box up for shipping if buyer arranges own courier. Sry no paypal, bank transfer only. Check my feedback - I’ve done lots of deals on basschat over the years without a hitch Keir
  4. Still have original Roland shipping box for this. BUMP for a sooper dooper do it all workstation
  5. Cort GB75JH see thru black ash body with maple neck and a nicely figured flame maple fingerboard. On my (imprecise) bathroom scales the weight is somewhere between 9.25 and 9.5 lbs Hardware on the GB75JH is an Omega high mass Badass type bridge and grooved saddles for changing string spacing to suit. Hipshot tuners are at the other end. Pickups are Cort’s own True Voice humbucker and single coil with 2 band active EQ. Volume pulls up for passive operation. Bought new just over a month ago. One small ding on body not visible from the front. No structural, electronics or playability issues with the bass at all. Will box up for shipping if buyer arranges their own courier. £295
  6. The B is fine. Sounds as clear as the B on both my Overwater Aspiration Elite (35”) or Ibanez fan fret 6 (35.5”) Never gave the 34” scale on the LTD much thought tbh. I used to feel the same about the Stingray 5’s I owned and I know they’re well thought of. more pics
  7. I believe the RB stands for “Rocco’s bass” as the RB series of basses were designed in conjunction with Rocco Prestia. I liked the non soapbar pickup type and placement for a six string. The body is swamp ash with a burl maple top. The neck finish is gloss on the fingerboard and bare wood on the back which has been regularly waxed to a nice smooth sheen and feel. Pickups are Aguilar and the pre-amp is an Aguilar OBP2. Bass has been owned by me from new and has been babied in the year I’ve owned it. Never been out the house. It’s also extremely light on the shoulder. Will need to weigh it but will be surprised if it’s too much over 8lbs. Would like to keep this but as usual I have my eyes on other things.
  8. Congrats. Looks great! 💕 Feels like I’m too long without an L-2000 (owned a couple of Tributes and a couple of USA ones in the past including one with their #8 jazz bass width neck) I miss the switching on them - both pickups/active/parallel was my go to sound. Hopefully one on my horizon as I’m back on G&Ls again, buying a pair of Tribute JB-2s in the past month. It’s either an L2K or an SB-2 next. Can’t decide which first🧐
  9. Sean bought the Ibanez Ashula II hybrid 7 string bass I was selling here on basschat. Good comms, made payment at the agreed time and all round good guy to deal with. Would deal with Sean again without reservation. A credit to Basschat! Keir
  10. now withdrawn from sale Gretsch G5440LSB Electromatic long scale bass Showroom condition, can’t see a mark on it. kept in Gator case most of its one year from new. Black top filtertron pickups. Strung with roundwounds at the moment. Bought new for 1k + Gator case was £100 extra. Lately I’ve seen a couple of shops online saying these are available to order for £850 (without case) so with this in mind I’m asking a pretty firm £625. available to audition just outside Ayr 30 miles south of Glasgow. 11. **Withdrawn from sale. Too good to let go so using it again instead** Roland FA06 workstation. Home use only. No issues, well cared for. Comes with psu, instruction manuals and gig bag. synth can be auditioned just outside Ayr or will box up for shipping if buyer arranges courier.
  12. ***NOW SOLD*** Offshore Indonesian version of the MusicMan Axis SuperSport guitar. Not one of the cheaper SUB models, the AX20, now discontinued, originally retailed around £550. This one has had the back locking tuners changed out for regular ones from a later AX30 model with the trem which did need the locking ones. As this guitar has a hardtail bridge, there’s no appreciable difference in the way the guitar holds its tuning. I actually prefer the look of the ones on it now and the neck has lost a bit of weight at the end. No constructional or electronics issues, guitar plays great. Given the swapped out tuners and the fact I already sold the Sterling gig bag, I’m asking £225. Guitar can be auditioned just outside Ayr which is 30 miles south of Glasgow or will meet up as far as Glasgow. Will box up for shipping if buyer arranges this. thanks for looking! Keir
  13. ——————————————————————— **Withdrawn from sale as can’t be doing with the inevitable seller’s regret with this one** ——————————————————————— Ovation B768 Elite bass built in New Hartford, Connecticut in 1991. Owned by me the last six years. I have loved owning this bass as I wanted one for many years but the last couple of years I’m no longer using it for anything other than in the house. Bass is in first class condition for a 29 year old instrument and has been well cared for throughout its lifetime. New Ovation under saddle pickup bought direct from Ovation shortly after I bought it. No issues with the bass. Action can be got stupidly low for an acoustic bass which is testament to the build quality and it plays faster than pretty much all my solid body basses. The acoustic tone is big and detailed sounding and projects well with the usual Ovation hallmark of high note definition and clarity over the entire fingerboard. The body is a deep bowl and moves a lot of air. specs: Solid Spruce top with exotic wood multi soundhole epaulets Bound Ebony fingerboard with maple inlays 2 pc Mahogany neck OP24+ pre-amp Official plush hard case included. Exterior of case showing some wear and tear but I gigged this a fair bit and it did its job keeping the bass safe. Bass can be auditioned just outside Ayr, 30 miles south of Glasgow. Will box up for shipping with a courier if buyer arranges this. Keir
  14. Jeff drove 120 miles to hand deliver his G&L Tribute JB-2 which I was buying from him. Super helpful guy and someone who knows their basses! thoroughly recommended. Hoping to buy another G&L from this chap sometime soon🙂
  15. cool, feel free to check back when you’re up. fwiw I wouldn’t describe the Ashula neck profile as thin. Feels more substantial front to back and in the shoulders too than my SoundGear fan fret 6 string Keir
  16. PMs replied to. I’ve got a bit of a G&L love in going again. Therefore interested in both USA and Tribute models
  17. Another price drop. now £625
  18. Forgot to say but a heads up for anyone interested and who hasn’t seen the sale price, Andertons are doing the JB-2 for £279 new
  19. The neck on the JB-2 is a medium C and very comfy. Finish on the back of the neck appears to be different to the Tributes I had in the past. Seems thinner, less plastic feeling now. Much prefer the feel of this one. Just checked on the G&L instrument pages and the main difference between this and the G&L Tribute JB (offset, fender jazz-a-like) is the fingerboard radius. 12” on the JB-2 vs 9.5” on the JB Keir
  20. Both a new sonic blue G&L Tribute JB-2 and a new trans black Cort GB75JH arrived today. Spent most of the evening setting them up and got them both playing pretty much to my liking. the artificial light makes the JB-2 look white (it’s a pale washed out blue in natural light) and the see thru grain on the Cort doesn’t show on these pics either. Shame as they’re both very pretty in the daytime. The Cort will be my back up 5 string for gigs and the JB2 is simply to re-ignite my fondness for the brand. Been a while but I owned a fair number of both USA and Tribute models way back. next up I’m after a Sire V7 in one of those sexy new colours! Keir
  21. I had one for a few months earlier this year. It was a five string in the twilight grey satin finish. I really liked it and thought the Barts and EQ sounded better, for want of a more technical description than the same set up in my Ibanez fan fret 6. the Cerro had oodles of sustain too. However another bass I covet came up for trade and I kept the fan fret over the Cerro because I wanted to stay with the six string. No complaints from me with the singlecut though. I would definitely buy another if funds allowed it and at £350 it’s a steal imo
